I remember hearing that it was an incredible movie and very intense... so I stayed away from it at the time. Five years later and I finally decided to watch it... and it indeed was very intense!! I really enjoyed this one and hope you enjoy this reaction!

2024-11-07 05:30:31 +0000 UTCSomething I noticed on this rewatch that I originally missed is that in the first half of the film we see Arthur begrudgingly walking slowly up the stairs, typically after trying to fit in at his job or with his social worker, while at the end after he's killed his coworker and he's dancing down the steps without a care in the world. So pulling himself up out of his madness takes a lot of effort and work and feels awful, but allowing himself to prance down into the depths makes him feel a sense of release.

2024-11-06 23:32:03 +0000 UTCYou might recognize Zazie Beetz, who played the neighbor Sophie, as Domino from Deadpool 2. Zazie plays Van in the Donald Glover vehicle Atlanta, which features Bryan Tyree Henry, who was also in Joker. I'd recommend you check Atlanta out on your own. It is a good time.

I wish they had stood their ground and not made a sequel. I refuse to watch the sequel, because to me this is a complete story that leaves the future to the mind of the person watching.

Of course it was intense, but the most intense parts for me are when Arthur shoots three Wall Street guys in the subway and when he (as Joker) shoots Murray Franklin ON LIVE TV! You might wanna avoid Folie Γ Deux (2024). That movie's not worth it. See you soon for Superman (1978), and always remember, that's life.
