JOKER - Full Length Reaction!

Here's the full length reaction to Joker! I remember that this movie was a big deal when it came out! I remember hearing that it was an incredible movie and very intense... so I stayed away from it at the time. Five years later and I finally decided to watch it... and it indeed was very intense!! I really enjoyed this one and hope you enjoy this reaction!

THANKSGIVING MOVIE POLL: Son in Law 1993? What say thee?

Randy

I'm so glad I never watched this movie before. Addie, I'm glad you were there to watch it with. Pretty darn upsetting.

Something I noticed on this rewatch that I originally missed is that in the first half of the film we see Arthur begrudgingly walking slowly up the stairs, typically after trying to fit in at his job or with his social worker, while at the end after he's killed his coworker and he's dancing down the steps without a care in the world. So pulling himself up out of his madness takes a lot of effort and work and feels awful, but allowing himself to prance down into the depths makes him feel a sense of release.

Folie Γ  Deux (2024) isn't worth it, IMO, because of the fact that it's a musical.

Can you share why you think the sequel isn’t worth watching?

Cameron Kerby

You might recognize Zazie Beetz, who played the neighbor Sophie, as Domino from Deadpool 2. Zazie plays Van in the Donald Glover vehicle Atlanta, which features Bryan Tyree Henry, who was also in Joker. I'd recommend you check Atlanta out on your own. It is a good time.

Luis Fernandez

I love how well done this movie is, and how the story builds (with exception of him actually interacting with Bruce Wayne). I wish they had stood their ground and not made a sequel. I refuse to watch the sequel, because to me this is a complete story that leaves the future to the mind of the person watching.

I was looking to rewatch this and now I have the perfect excuse!

I'm really excited for you to delve more into the DC superheroes stuff. Exftied for the first original superman, Keaton Batman, then the Snyder verse!

Happy Wednesday, Addie! 😊 I've been looking forward to you getting to this one. I have yet to see the sequel(which I think is already on digital), so I hope that you get to that one as well. Definitely looking forward to watching this reaction later this evening. For a young Joaquin Phoenix, I highly recommend the 1989 movie "Parenthood". Have a great day today! 😊

James Gunn is taking DC on a different approach starting with his version of the Suicide Squad.

Let's give Addie a round of applause for surviving Joker (2019). πŸ‘πŸ‘ Happy Wednesday. I'm so glad that you watched this movie. Of course it was intense, but the most intense parts for me are when Arthur shoots three Wall Street guys in the subway and when he (as Joker) shoots Murray Franklin ON LIVE TV! You might wanna avoid Folie Γ  Deux (2024). That movie's not worth it. See you soon for Superman (1978), and always remember, that's life.

JOKER's great, but it was also great as THE KING OF COMEDY. But no one saw that one.

Philip Davetas

I still feel that this is still a solid origin story for a joker. I also think it works if most of the movie is in his head! Shame the sequel undos alot

KingGoji94

Now you need to watch the 2 films that served as sort of influences to this movie, which were both directed by Martin Scorsese and both star Robert De Niro: "Taxi Driver" and "The King of Comedy."
