Help me choose a movie to watch next!
Added 2024-10-10 16:00:09 +0000 UTCHelp me choose a movie to watch next! I'm planning on watching Signs (2002) from the last poll since it was just right behind Misery! Happy voting!

Agreed. I think Sleepy Hollow would be the perfect combination of horror, tension, and light comedy for spooky viewing! Love most of the other selections as well. ๐ค

2024-10-11 11:39:10 +0000 UTCYeah, I don't understand her thought process of including a sci-fi/action thriller with a bunch of spooky season titles. ๐คทโโ๏ธ But, on the other hand, I do think it's the best movie in this poll, so I'm glad it's winning.
Byrd N. Hand
2024-10-11 02:13:03 +0000 UTCAt least "The Abyss" has regained the lead over fricking "Constantine." Of course, becsause it's so close, she's most likely going waste a slot watching that one as well just like with "Signs." ๐
Byrd N. Hand
2024-10-11 02:01:32 +0000 UTCNah.
Richard Maurer
2024-10-11 01:47:50 +0000 UTCAn interesting selection again. Bram Stoker's Dracula is the clear standout to me, but it's also doing the worst in the poll, so heigh-ho. Sleepy Hollow and The Crow are also good. Not too keen on the rest.

2024-10-11 01:26:41 +0000 UTCI cast my vote to watch the winner then move on to a new list.

2024-10-11 00:52:57 +0000 UTCYou could try having the maturity to respect other peopleโs choices and the patience that someday Addie may choose your suggestion.

2024-10-11 00:47:44 +0000 UTCOnly thing Iโll say is if you watch any of these movies then you should have no problem watching Stir of Echoes at a later date. Just saying.

2024-10-10 21:30:21 +0000 UTCresults so far are kinda odd. nothing against the abyss but i feel itโs an interesting poll pick for halloween and its very peculiar that itโs winning. my pick is sleepy hollow tho!

2024-10-10 21:13:34 +0000 UTCI love The Crow (The 1994 one) for me it's the only one! lol. Eh alright, I did think some of the sequals were okay. Of the sequals I liked The Crow: Wicked Prayer(2005) the best. City of Angels sorta angered me a bit. Didn't like it. Salvation was so/so. The first one though, man it's such a gorgeous movie. Haven't seen the new one and don't plan to. I myself consider it an insult to Brandon Lee and to just be in poor taste. That's my personal take on it though.
DM DC
2024-10-10 21:03:57 +0000 UTCDang, some awesome choices here. Not sure what to pick. The Crow is such a beautiful movie. The Abyss is stunning. Bram Stoker's Dracula is a trip. Constantine is a great time. Sleepy Hollow is loads of fun. Shutter Island is really earie. The Mist, I fear might break her.

2024-10-10 20:29:35 +0000 UTCConstantine is one of those movies that found its audience after it failed at the box office. It was too weird for critics but itโs definitely not a bad movie (especially by mid 2000s comic book adaptation standards). Some really great character actors in minor roles.
Jacob King
2024-10-10 20:15:23 +0000 UTCAddie, I recommend watching the Remastered version of the Abyss that came out recently. Its the same movie but its just visually enhanced for modern screens. You can find it on amazon. 2hrs 51min is the run time you are looking for. Its only version that is streamable right now.

Addie Counts
2024-10-10 19:48:00 +0000 UTCConstantine is fine taken on its own, but it's a terrible adaptation of the character. If that's irrelevant for you, then it's not too bad a movie. And Peter Stormare is in it. That's a always a plus for me.
Lemurian Jones
2024-10-10 19:36:48 +0000 UTCI've never posted the Hunger Games on Patreon or YouTube? You must be thinking of someone else lol

2024-10-10 19:08:36 +0000 UTCYour polls tell us one thing: you still have so many great movies to discover.

2024-10-10 18:54:54 +0000 UTCYeah, not a fan at all of AVATAR.So much so, I couldn't watch the sequel. But that doesn't make you a bad person for liking it. What we're talking about here are opinions which has no moral boundaries. We all like what we like and there's no right or wrong in that.
Philip Davetas
2024-10-10 18:40:23 +0000 UTCThe first "Avatar" was basically just a mashup of "Dances with Wolves," "The Last Samurai," "FernGully: The Last Rainforest," and the Pocahontas/John Smith story. And designing the Na'vi to look like tall blue cat people certainly didn't help in endearing me to them. ๐
Byrd N. Hand
2024-10-10 18:39:50 +0000 UTCHey now, the original Avatar is a good movie. ๐ (I canโt speak for the sequel though.) I do agree though that aside from The Abyss sheโs probably watched all the Cameron films I like.
Doug
2024-10-10 18:21:49 +0000 UTCI've never seen "The Mist," but I understand it's rather polarizing. Personally, I still firmly believe that if Addie was able to survive "The Shining," she'll be able to survive *any* horror film -- even "The Exorcist"... but, unfortunately, many people here insist on continuing to treat her like a child and protect this so-called perceived 'innocence' that most people in their late 20's lost long ago. ๐คทโโ๏ธ
Byrd N. Hand
2024-10-10 18:18:30 +0000 UTCPersonally I donโt think Constantine is terrible, itโs ok. ๐คทโโ๏ธ I think the main issue is it doesnโt really stand out when compared to similar things. Itโs not as good a Keanu action movie as Matrix or John Wick, itโs not as good a supernatural thriller as The Exorcist or The Ring or even The Devilโs Advocate, and itโs not as good a comic book character movie as Doctor Strange or the better Batman films. And Keanu doesnโt fit the role of Constantine as well as Matt Ryan whoโs played him regularly since 2014. So I donโt think itโs that Constantine is bad, itโs that it could have been better.
Doug
2024-10-10 18:15:29 +0000 UTCI'm not a fan of James Cameron's on-his-own flicks. He seems to be best at movies where a mythology is already established. ALIENS, TRUE LIES (based on a French flick), TERMINATOR (based on an OUTER LIMITS episode). As far as THE ABYSS, the documentary of making the movie is far more entertaining than the movie itself. All that crazy drama that went on while making it is film school alone. But in your defense, I saw THE ABYSS when LEVIATHAN, DEEP STAR SIX, LORDS OF THE DEEP and when Michael Crichton's SPHERE came out, so by the time Cameron's movie came out, I had already been bored of underwater flicks. There was nothing new at that point.
Philip Davetas
2024-10-10 18:15:09 +0000 UTCI've seen 'Constantine' come up and do really well on so many polls and I've always heard it's just not a good film so I've never watched it, or any reactions of it. If it wins, I'll probably at least watch Addie react to it, just to get an idea of why so many people think it's so bad (obviously not the people who always vote for). For me, on this list, I'm going with "The Abyss" but also "The Mist" because, A. amazing film for spooky time and B. well, IYKYK (NO spoilers).
HeyHeyJK
2024-10-10 17:57:28 +0000 UTCAddie's already seen all the better Cameron films. "The Abyss" is the only worthwhile one she has yet to see, IMO. Since "Titanic" caused his head to disappear up his own ass and chose to basically dedicate the rest of his life to this "Avatar" crap, he hasn't been the same. And, for the record, I *have* seen entertaining reactions to "The Abyss" from other reactors -- most recently Jen Murray.
Byrd N. Hand
2024-10-10 17:55:43 +0000 UTCYeah, I'm with Phil. I've watched multiple reactions to that film and it has always been very well received. Just the logisitics of making that film - and the footage from it - is amazing and the reacters I've seen never fail to comment on it. The performances are great and the main plot has still not been told by any other films I know of. So, definitely going to have to 'agree to disagree' with you on this.
HeyHeyJK
2024-10-10 17:54:42 +0000 UTCSorry, but I have to disagree. I think The Abyss (special edition) is a fantastic movie! Cassie and Carly (Popcorn in Bed) did a very enjoyable reaction to it about a year ago. Saying there are better James Cameron movies means very little... because he made *so many* great films!
Phil Stubblefield
2024-10-10 17:49:45 +0000 UTCJust something for her to put in her back pocket.
Scot Jebens
2024-10-10 17:45:37 +0000 UTCI still think some people are going with the โbreak the cutieโ trope when they vote for movies like The Mist. And to be clear, Iโm not commenting on anyoneโs looks, itโs just the name of the trope.
Scot Jebens
2024-10-10 17:45:05 +0000 UTCI don't know how THE ABYSS makes anyone's poll. I get it's James Cameron, but there are better Cameron movies. It's one of those movies that doesn't do well for a reaction video. It's like trying to react to ZODIAC where the person is just sitting there absorbing data. Whether or not THE ABYSS is good or bad, it just doesn't lend itself well to reaction.
Philip Davetas
2024-10-10 17:36:57 +0000 UTCIt baffles me how many times perhaps the weakest title in one of her polls ends up winning (or co-winning, in the case of "Signs" in the last one). ๐คฆโโ๏ธ I'd love to be able to watch more than 1 or 2 consecutive reactions from her on a more regular basis... ๐คทโโ๏ธ

Randolph Tirazona
2024-10-10 17:04:22 +0000 UTCI agree there, The Abyss is a great movie but it's a straight up action thriller, not really a spooky movie at all. But hey, if it wins the poll worst case it's still a great film. ๐ (Constantine has a big lead at the moment.)
Doug
2024-10-10 17:02:51 +0000 UTCI'm down for most of the films on this list. ๐ (I'm not a fan of the 1992 Dracula, that's about it.) If I had to rate these, I think The Abyss might be the best one. The Crow is also up there at number 2 (RIP Brandon Lee!). The current poll leader Constantine is objectively not the best film (it's a 46% on Rotten Tomatoes), but I enjoyed it well enough, I'd give it 6 or 7 out of 10 probably? So I am perfectly happy rewatching that for Spooktober season ๐ (Keavu Reeves is ok in this film, but personally I think Matt Ryan is THE definitive Constantine actor, it's like he was born to play that character! He's played John Constatine now for about a decade straight in television and animated films and shows, it's too bad he never got a shot at a live action Constantine movie.)
Doug
2024-10-10 16:59:38 +0000 UTC"Better Off Dead" is awesome, but she needn't react to that in October, i.e. the only month of the year she's willing to subject herself to horror/horror-adjacent flicks.

2024-10-10 16:25:57 +0000 UTCIt would certainly be nice to get a Tim Burton film back on Addie's channel after her losing her early reactions to "Beetlejuice" and "Edward Scissorhands." Still hoping she watches his 2 "Batman" movies in December/late November (particularly since "Batman Returns" takes place around Christmas). ๐ค๐ค
Byrd N. Hand
2024-10-10 16:18:55 +0000 UTCI do hope Addie watches the 1993 Special Edition of The Abyss (1989). 2024-10-10 16:11:39 +0000 UTCThis is such a good poll. I was torn between 'Sleepy Hollow', 'Dracula', 'The Mist', and 'Constantine'.
Kyle Brandon Sanger
2024-10-10 16:09:43 +0000 UTCA lot of people are going to tell you to watch the Special Edition of "The Abyss". While it does flesh out some of the relationships, in my opinion, it devolves into the preachy "be better human beings" trope many science fiction films fall back on. I just think the Theatrical Version is a tighter, better paced film. I would caution voters on whether to push Addie to watch "The Mist". Those who have seen the movie know what I'm talking about. And no, I didn't vote for it.
Miles E Coburn
2024-10-10 16:09:10 +0000 UTCIt's not a horror film, but it's nonetheless the best title on this list. I'm fine with either version... though people tend to prefer the Special Edition.
Byrd N. Hand
