NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN - Full Length Reaction!

I believe Scorsese's "Silence" also didn't have a score... and, apart from the Stephen Bishop song that plays over the opening credits, "The China Syndrome" doesn't, either. Personally, I think "The Big Lebowski" is a little overrated, in the sense that it's maybe their *8th* best film, rather than one of their top 3, as many seem to think.

I believe you are the first reactor to realize that Brolin's injury was caused by the lock hitting him, everyone else assumes he was shot. Kudos! This is the only film I am aware of with literally no score, the band playing didn't count as that was "in movie." You didn't really comment on the mind blowing concept that the main character of the movie was killed... off camera lol. And yes the other major Coen films reacted to are Fargo and The Big Lebowski and for good reason.

I remember when this came out and something just never appealed to me. I enjoyed the cast and that's honestly about it. I'm there with you Addie, I won't be watching it again. The thing about what Carson Wells, Woody Harrelson, said about the number of floors. There's an old superstition about buildings with more than 14 floors. The 13th floor was always considered bad luck. So it'll go from the 12th to the 14th, which is still the 13th floor even if it's not named that. There was a movie called 1408 (2007) with John Cusack and Samuel L. Jackson that kinda dives into that. You probably have Oct/scary season filled up but this is a movie you can add to a list for another time. Take care of yourself, Addie!! Tell Ollie I said hi!!

Billy Dancel

A perfect film. The gas station scene is iconic. A 4 time Academy winner.

Kyle Brandon Sanger

I love the guy who pulls over to give Chigurh a jump. Great character!

So many "mother truckers". You should start keep a count on-screen.

I enjoy this movie so much. Sure, it's full of awful, awful stuff, but it is such a well-made, well-acted movie. I love how the Coens can so easily create interesting characters, even in tiny roles like the border guard and the guy who was selling clothes.

Thanos getting yeeted and deleted towards the end there, ooof. 😐

What a classic. So deserving of its Oscars.

Welcome to the Coen Brothers rabbit hole. I know "The Big Lebowski" is already on your radar, so I'll just add "Raising Arizona" and "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" as lighter Coen options. I know recommendations for "Fargo" will also be inevitable, so I'll also throw out what I feel are their 3 most underrated films: "Barton Fink," "A Serious Man," and "Inside Llewyn Davis."

Speaking of the Coen Brothers, who directed this Oscar-winning movie, I suggest ALL of their movies. #MoreCoenBrosForAddieCounts

Let's give Addie a round of applause for surviving No Country For Old Men (2007). 👏👏 Happy Wednesday. Just like with Cast Away (2000) & Firefly (2002-2003), this movie is on my watchlist. Hopefully I find time to watch it soon and when I do, I'll offer my thoughts, so stay tuned. BTW, this reaction foreshadows what's to (potentially) come in October.
