2025-11-20 23:34:16 +0000 UTCYea, but it pisses Ragnar off that Floki still stands behind what he said. Cuz we do know that Floki thinks he got a sign! Therefor, he was justified in his eyes. Ragnar doesnt matter at that point. And thats what pisses Ragnar off. The fact that him punishing Floki would be him betraying Floki and the gods in Floki's eyes lol

2025-11-20 23:32:19 +0000 UTCThe show has an atheist bias. When Athelstan or Floki receive signs from God or the Norse gods, it's implied that they WANTED to see these signs at the precise moment of their torment. Does the showrunner really believe that Athelstan was struck by a luminous halo from the heavens? I doubt it. Does the showrunner really believe that Floki received a sign from the north gods to kill Athelstan? I doubt it even more. And that's why the showrunner has Ragnar speak for him. Ragnar doesn't believe for a second that the gods asked anything of Floki. And that's perfectly normal. Today, Norse mythology is dead (or almost, since a few Odinists remain) so why would he claim that Floki received a sign? The only inconsistency I see in all of this is the seer's abilities. He's given several very accurate pieces of information since the beginning of the show. Maybe the showrunner believes in fortune-telling xD Or is it just because it looks good in a show like this to introduce a bit of mysticism? I don't know
