It just hit me that between this and One Piece you're really on a "characters that have a moral code that prevents them from killing" trend aren't you?~ (Incidentally; you actually sort of called Ed using his own soul like a philosophers stone a few eps back; so I was waiting for you to see him basically do exactly that lol) So since the show brought it up, might as well expand on it: You know how the whole thing is that Ishvalans have Red eyes and Amestrians have Blue? Ed, Al and their dad are the only characters alive in the show that have Gold eyes. I say "alive" because the only other people with Gold eyes in the show are the ones that were sacrificed last episode to fuel Fathers and Hoenhiems immortality. Gold eyes are basically the last remnants of a dead race. I think you're pretty much accurate when it comes to the chimeras and not being human. I think the other side is that even if they have the option to look human, but they also know that they aren't: especially since they way they talk; the beast forms are actually their real bodies and being able to look human is just a disguise: I can definitely see why they wouldn't want to live that way with their families.
