The thing with Shoto is that he's impressive when he uses fast attacks that are also powerful or precise. But the moment he faces an enemy capable of neutralizing his abilities, he's quickly at a loss. That being said, he would have won against Tetsutetsu in a 1v1, but he realized his limitations. Bakugo and Deku are much more versatile than him.

In fact, when you consider the fact that heat is used to harden steel, it's actually impressive how far Tetsutetsu had to push him in order to secure a DRAW. What you're experiencing is something I like to call "main cast bias".

Now that I think about it: I wonder if Kirishima could also tank Todorokis flames the same way? I think you're definitely forgetting that Stain was way more of an assassin then a fighter. He's kinda like Shinso actually in if you aren't deliberately playing around his quirk, he's just going to win and you can't do anything about it. Doesn't matter how strong, fast, or powerful you are; you let Stain cut you, you've basically lost right on the spot.

Todoroki was going to use a devastating attack against an unhardrned tetesutetsu, logically it would have killed him if the mud kid didn't interfere. But I liked how it ended up and the mud kid definitely deserved his spot in the recommendations
