They're not part animals, anymore than you would say humans are part animals because we are decended from monkeys lol. So yes, technically speaking they are animals but so are humans. But in the same way that it likely stems from a very distant evolutionary relation, referring to them as fish or animals should be treated the same way as if you referred to a human as a monkey, and you know that wouldn't go down well..

XD (And tbh; Decken you can go ahead with: I don't think anyones going to get mad at you for thinking he'ss Oda' worst character lol) The Otohime stuff on the other hand; some of it I can't talk about because the show itself is going to try tackling it (Even if in one case it's going to take another 500 eps to do so), but there's a few things I think I can say. First of: I don't know if you are American or know about American history; but Otohime and Tiger were both inspired by Martin Luther King and Malcolm X respectively and how they approached racial injustice between the subjugated Black Americans and White Americans. MLK in particular was very much entirely anti-violence when it came to trying to obtain equality, so keep that mentality in mind when thinking about how Otohime approachs things. > Fishmen DON’T WANT to live with humans, she shouldn’t force that on them! > They’re Fishmen, they live better in the sea Wrong on both accounts actually; her public drunken tirade in the last ep proves that. It's posible for sure, but why would you choose that over living in a house? Now; is living on the surface nesiarily the same as living "with humans"? Not quite, but unless you go full Arlong and just genocide them all, you're not going to be able to avoid it. So when the choice are "Live with people on the surface" or "Live away from people at the bottom of the ocean", they're doing the latter because it's safer, but make no mistake; they do absolutely want to live on the surface where humans are and do the things that humans get to do. Fishman Island is both a sovereign nation allied with the World Government, and land that was protected from Pirate using Whitebeards name as well. Believe it or not; there actually is restriction to the Nobles that prevent them from doing just anything they want to the citizens of allied nations; they legally have to treat Fishman Island in the same way they would treat Alabasta or something like that. The reason they have free reign on Saboady is because Sabaody isn't actually an island affiliated with the Government. So legal loopholes, and yada yada is why they can act with full impunity there and not other places. The only reason Whitebeard needed to step up is because of specifically pirates. Similar to, again, Alabasta or Water 7, being allied with the government may give you political protective, but doesn't necessarily provide military protection. It still falls onto the countries themselves to have their own army to safeguard citizens if any pirate reaches their land. Fishman Island is a special case because being at the literal crossroads of the oceans; it has like 20 times the pirate traffic of any other country, so Whitebeard stepped in to provide protection on that front. (And keep in mind, he's not even technically doing anything major; it's not like he's got crew stationed there. He's entirely running on the power of his name alone to prevent anyone doing anything serious to the island; as we've seen, even under his protection, there's still pirate robbing places all the time.) > Only one scratched the queen? Hating humans gets you Arlong; he had a number of very specific humans that cause him pain and he has every right to hate. And who did he take that out on? Namis town. They just don't like the message she's trying to make; but that doesn't mean they don't respect her. Even when they took back the petitions, they were apologetic about it; you don't say "sorry" to someone if you don't at least respect them. But even if they didn't respect her; that's even less reasons to hold her back. If you don't respect her; just let her go and hope she dies. And if you do respect her; if she's so adamant that she wants to go; why wouldn't you respect her decision, even if you know it's a mistake? > Humans do all that to her society, and she DEFENDS the humans? What Otohime is trying to defend against is that she knows the world is 70% good innocent humans (Yes, some of them may be prejudiced or scared of Fishmen, but there isn't any inherent malice to them, and that's what's important), 29% Pirates and other crooks, and 1% Celestial Dragons. Let's say a group of Fishman decided to go visit the village that Usopps from, or see Choppers hometown, you won't say to them "You can't go there, the people there will enslave you" because that's just objectively not true. They might be freaked out, but they're not going to deliberate try and hurt any Fishman that visits. But unless a child can actually experience the difference; how are they meant to know? In scenario; let's say they did just shoot this particular Dragon: All the kids are going to see is them just killing "a human". If this is there first experience; it is going to be a *LOT* harder to explain "Most humans aren't the bad type of humans and you shouldn't' kill them" because they're children: how are they meant to understand the difference? Imagine having a father try to explain to you how you shouldn't abuse people, but who also turns around and hits his wife because *she* deserves it and that somehow makes it okay; it's not about being right or wrong, it's about what a child can actually understand and how difficult it is to get a child to understand nuance when they have such a precedent for black and white thinking. Like I said, there's more that I'd like to say, but later episodes will do that by themselves lol.

First of all, No. Decken said it 27 trillion times that he loves her body, he loves how big she is, he thinks both of them were in love with each other until she told him he’s not her type just a few moments ago and then he now wants her dead. Oda is trying his best to change the story after messing up, he forgot how old she was when he did the math, he an idiot, this doesn’t work. So no, Decken doesn’t have an alibi. Why was Otohime teaching a class about the human? What does she think will change? The issue was never with the fishmen, it was with the humans. Let’s just assume, let’s just imagine, let’s just think if she had a brain; Fishmen LIKE humans… so they go to the surface and live on land… but humans STILL hate fishmen because they’re racist. Even if fishmen adored humans, it’s the humans that despise fishmen. Why is she trying to fix fishmen if they’re not broken? Their hate is valid, humans’ hate is not valid, so she should try to fix that, the humans need the fixing not the fishmen. She should try to stop the propaganda where it’s originating from, not even talk to the humans and be “We’re good, see?” Yeah they don’t care that you’re good, they never said you’re evil, they’re just racists.
