2025-09-03 14:34:56 +0000 UTC"To love your brother so much to give up your arm is crazy" And yet somehow in that fight, there were two people that were saved because of their brother giving up their right arm to make sure they didn't die. Ironic, isn't it? Speaking of irony; it's always been interesting to me that Ed and Al both detest Scars outlook of "creators and destroyers", and yet the thing that Ed says to try and comfort Winry is "You're not a killer, you're someone that's meant to help people", which is not dissimilar of an outlook. (I've always understood it to be less about the mindset and more about how they view Alchemy specifically, but again, something I find ironic) You know; I've seen a number of people react to this ep, but don't think I've ever heard someone point out loud the similarities between Scars actions and Al 'Queda attacks. (They might've thought it internally, but they definitely didn't say it) While I can't say something like that *wouldn't* have been on the mangakas mind considering this series was written in the early 2000's, at the very least, as you can see by the end of this ep, if it was an inspiration for her, she definitely wanted to take a more "human" approach to the concept. I actually don’t disagree with you about what you were talking about at the end; that its hard to make analogies to real life in a world of superhumans. (It honestly ends up being my biggest issue with certain manga/anime) That said, while I obviously cant give exact details on account of spoilers, I will say that the way FMA:B handles this idea is a little bit different then most, and I’ll be interested to see if you can spot it.
