Also, about "God being supposed to be good", that's the Christian God you're talking about, Truth is more of a god (with small "g") in the ancient sense - an all-powerful entity that is morally perfectly neutral, an embodiment of natural balance.

2025-06-15 14:15:54 +0000 UTCDamn, forgot the schedule less then a week after posting it? And I thought I was bad at timekeeping XD (Joking of course; you're still awesome my dude~) The line at the beginning you kept mishearing was "Human transmutation is strictly forbidden, for what could equal the value of a human soul?" Basically saying that because alchemy requires that you turn something into something else: to transmute/create a human, you'd have to find some way to transform something into a soul for that human to have, and how exactly are you supposed to do that? Anywho; a bit more regarding Alchemy: like the introduction said at the start, unlike most other "power systems" like magic, bending, etc., Alchemy is 100% pure science in this world. In that sense it's the equivalent of being a computer programmer or an electrical engineer in the real world: it's something that theoretically any person is able to do and learn, the only restriction is that they need to actually, you know; *learn* it. It's an tricky thing to study, which is why most people don't use alchemy and instead learn other things: in the same way that technically anyone in the real world can learn to be a quantum physicist, but those are also rare and valuable because most people just don't try to become one because what's the point? (And also why it's kinda crazy that Ed and Al were learning advanced techniques at the age of 10; their mom as right to call them geniuses since even that bird Ed made is probably exceedingly complex.) It's also why you'll see most alchemists in the series having a specialty: in theory they use alchemy in all sorts of ways, but they instead choose to learn as much about one specific area.
