I reckon his devil fruit could actually counter Kizaru's light devil fruit, because it doesn't really seem to act as just simply darkness, but as the darkness that you get from something like a Black Hole, since his abilities seem to be based on darkness AND gravity, so it's really more like the Black Hole / Darkness devil druit. And one of the things that is commonly said about black holes is that the gravity is so intense that not even Light is able to escape, so I feel like that implies that his devil fruit would still counter Kizaru's (simply based on devil fruit powers, not counting potential fighting ability)

It's nothing that has ever been stated by the show yet, but I won't explain why yet because my reasoning is based on little pieces of evidence here and there, from early episodes till about 1000+ so I don't want to potentially spoil anything yet
