When you mentioned Magellan's goofy side, it was obviously intentional on Oda's part. He wanted to portray Magellan and Hanyabal as funny prison wardens who have integrity towards the population. Because really, what's their role? To keep the most dangerous people on the planet locked up and protect honest citizens. Where's the harm in that? So the World Government is clearly also using the prison for political prisoners because Jinbe is only there because he didn't want to obey. But that doesn't change the fact that the prison wardens aren't bad people. The question we can ask ourselves is how far is Luffy willing to go to save his brother from prison? And depending on the answer, is it moral? He doesn't care because he's a pirate as well as a liberating anarchist, but still. And on the other hand, Ace isn't a bad person, so we can understand. But then again, is his release worth the release of other dangerous people? So is Magellan condemnable in this story?

2025-04-25 17:47:57 +0000 UTCHe's a paramesia, he coats his body in venom so it sometimes seems like he's a logia, but it's not like he could split his body in 2 like a logia could. There's 2 things to consider, with his venom coating, it's possible to punch the coat without actually hitting hard enough to really touch him (it's painful to touch him whatsoever after all) Secondly, he might not be a logia, but just like Luffy/Zoro/Sanji he has strong personal durability, so even if you DO punch him doesn't mean you will hurt him much, it took a bazooka to the stomach to make him go to his knees, but he was definitely not expecting to be punched and he recovered quickly, so he could probably shrug off smaller punches especially now that he's expecting to get hit.
