First, about Homelander's abs, yes, they are fake, because since Compound V gives him super strength anyway, there'd be no real way for him to get muscular, because your muscles need to get strained in order to get bigger. But the thing is, they kind of need to be present on his costume, because they are a symbol of strength for the public to see. Second, and this is a much less astute observation, but I love that the writers used the term "differently abled", because it really drives home the point about how superficial and full of shit Vought (and a lot of corporations irl) is. I especially like the juxtaposition of the Vought's use of "differently abled" vs Homelander's use of "cripple". Both those terms would be offensive to a majority of disabled people, but one of them sounds more acceptable to the general public/non-disabled people.
