Getting the idea that Joyce thinks Dorothy is too good for her. Self loathing seems like a Secret Joyce Trait that she doesn't often share and that she was lying at the bar about sharing everything she already kinda proved it with the whole access level joke. She had to basically be directly pushed into pursuing Jacob which was spelt out loud in the comic as mirroring her relationship with Dorothy. Dorothy is this precious piece of heaven that fell out of the sky and right onto her lap one day and i think she's always just been happy taking the little bit she can get from her and savoring it. I absolutely cannot wait to see how Joyce unpacks the fact she's caused her so much pain unintentionally.
