I’ve been waiting years for this to get animated LETS GO

Enddow

Also, Haschwalth is told to be the first son of Yhwach, yet this guy Lille received power from Yhwach first.

If first shot on Shunsui was an illusion, did he also imagine Nanao to run and reach to shot shunsui in concern?

All Black villain forms are weird in the show so far. Espada 7, Tosen, now this guy Lille.

According to explanations other say, his bankai is perfect to release when he is getting bullied. The bully auto traps himself in that bankai. Kurotsuchi didn't win by himself. He needed someone to give him crucial initial data. Zaraki did that important job. Actually tho, any fodder char could have done that job too, what zaraki did. Which is, revealing the opponent's 'hand'. Pun wasn't intended. Lol You can watch the opening now!!!

Shunsui's Shikai can bring children's games to reality. Shunsui's Bankai can bring adult's theatre performances into reality.

Good reaction. I was confused with his bankai too. Cool that you guys are helping explain

Renji lost because he was holding back and is in a completely disadvantageous area. Kenpachi lost because he doesn't do any thinking and goes straight to things and immediately got cooked by the worst enemy for him he could've pulled up on. Same with Grimmjow. Not even close to being comparable

I found this comment on you tube : Shunsui’s Bankai is portrayed as a stage play called "The Tragic Love of Two Lovers." In the first act, the damage is equally divided, symbolizing the sorrow of the couple who cannot be together. In the second act, a virus breaks out, representing the male protagonist’s long-lasting sorrow and terminal illness. In the third act, both characters reduce their spiritual pressure together, symbolizing the lovers’ pact to die together (“sinju” in Japanese that specifically refers to lovers' suicides). In the fourth act, a clean break occurs, symbolizing the male protagonist’s regret halfway through his suicide, and the female protagonist kills him with her own hands.

Another comment (from Mike G.M.) gave a fairly good explanation but I disagree with some of their interpretation and I wanted to give some of my own ideas on top of that. This is probably in my top 5 favorite fights in Bleach so I've done a LOT of thinking about it lol. Basically, the whole thing is an adult's "play", just like his shikai is a child's "play". The name of this play is "Karamatsu Shinju" which means essentially "Lover's Pine Suicide". The first act of the play, the "man" (Lille Barro) beats his "woman" (Shunsui), which is reflected back onto him. He feels "guilt and regret" in the story because he beat his wife, but in reality because the attacks he made on Shunsui are reflected back onto him. Act 2 is him falling into a deep depression as he feels guilt over his actions, and that is the sickness. In the end, the woman gives him an ultimatum. They can make things right by killing themselves and jumping into the lake together. This is act 3, where Lille and Shunsui are plunged into the Abyss. As Lille swims towards the surface, he's backing out on their "promise" and trying to leave the waters and his woman behind. Thus the woman becomes angry and slits his throat with a thread, becoming act 4. Generally speaking this is the interpretation that makes the most sense to me. This next part is headcanon, but I do think that the Bankai still has a huge risk for Shunsui. I think just like the Shikai, there are rules to everything, Shunsui just has so much more experience with it that you're left floundering with no idea of what to do and he lures you right into his trap. I think Shunsui wouldn't be "allowed" to cut Lille's throat if he didn't try to swim away because then in the story they would've both drowned in the water. And then they just would've had their power drained slowly. I also think Act 3 or 2 would've been impossible if not for Lille having hit Shunsui, and if Shunsui had hit him then Shunsui would've taken that damage and would've been sick too. This is one of my favorite bankai in large part because it's so weird and hard to understand. When i first read this part I didn't understand it all either, especially because I was reading shitty translations lol.

Dope that Shunsui's Bankai has 4 Acts / Stages like Yama's NESW

Damn: super early again, I wasn't expecting this episode until tomorrow XD Anyway; points! To MASSIVELY simplify Shunsuis Bankai, while his Shikai makes childrens play manifest in the real world; his Bankai makes plays for adults manifest, and those tend to be a lot darker. The "play" in this context is named "The Pine Lovers Suicide" (Made up by Kubo to the best of my knowledge) We don't know if it's the only play he can do, but the simplified story goes like this; > There was once a man that would constantly abuse his wife, and her suffering was so great her pain would leave the man sick and on the verge of death. > The man then convinced his wife join him in drowning in the nearby lake, to save both of them the suffering. However, when they fall in, the man gets scared and leaves his wife behind. Enraged, the wife returns from the water and severs the man's neck. Yeah: I was wondering how you would react to the revelation that Kurotsuchi hadn't actually won yet lol. Honestly part of the reason I wasn't particularly a fan of the last episode *is* the fact that the anime made it seem like the fight was over then and there, when there is still a LOT more to go. (Incidentally; you didn't notice that the next episode is called "Baby Hold Your Hand, Part 2", meaning it's a continuation from the last episode. Though, I'm slightly smiling at the idea that you seem to believe Shunsui has won this fight as much as you believed Kurostuchi won the last one; and we know how that turned out XD)

It's my first time seeing Shunsui's bankai too lol, and I loved it! He's the Head Captain now for a reason. Edit: Oh and can't forget to mention his insane endurance as well, he acted like those holes in him were just like a scratch... Now thats what I call badass.

Kizaru

I think shunsui bankai is a play on the word play his shikai you play children’s games with his bankai he turns the area around him into a traditional Japanese stage play with different acts I wonder if that mean he has different plays depending on the opponent

Blue buddy

Shunsui's bankai are acts of a play. He's not allowed to normally use it because the range is too big and it would kill his nearby allies. It's kind of funny that Shunsui cold have soloed all of the espada back then if given the space lol.

Loro

Yes thank you so much for the early upload I love this episode so much !!!! This was the definition of Bleach greatness to me

Blue buddy

My favorite captain! Goated bankai
