I think you've forgot but in the episode Mars appeared they said the diamond kingdom uses special magic crystals to enhance to magic of their special soldiers (and those grimoire merging ) . As you saw Mars has crystals in his forehead and chest and Ladros has crystals in his forehead and chest too and Fana had a crystal that broke when she awakened the 3rd eye . Those crystals make them stronger and they can also be controlled by the diamond kingdom . Fana after she was defetead by Mars (when they were kids) they still put a magic crystal into her head but she didn't grow stronger ( in fact she grew weaker ) so that's why they threw her away to die .
