It's made a bit more clear what it actually is in the manga though; it's Ushiwaka silently going "You sure you're okay there dude? Sorry about nearly ripping your finger off; that was my bad" Basically he's just trying to quickly make sure there's no bad blood between them because of the accident, since they are literally in the endgame and there's not really time for lengthy apologies right now.
