2024-01-05 12:08:39 +0000 UTCRegarding Enel having gigantic earlobes; it's actually a reference to Buddhism; Enel actually has a lot of that in his design, but this one is particularly interesting. In the past, stretched earlobes were seen as a symbol of wealth. Mostly because the way you would get them is by wearing solid gold earrings, which would slowly stretch out your ears because of how heavy they were. If you look at depictions of Buddha; he almost always has long earlobes, but they're also always depicted as not having any earrings. It's done this way to symbolize that Buddha *was* to be a man that focuses on wealth and status in the past, but that he removed his earrings, the representation of that life, after he became enlightened, though his long ears remain as a symbol of what he used to be. Enel on the other hand, is still wearing the gold earrings. Meaning that despite being seen as a divine god, the only thing he still cares about is money and power.
