It seems like you missed the context of Yachirus flashback when kenpachi used his shikai. He asked where she came from. She touched his sword. She didn’t have a name.

2023-08-20 23:55:47 +0000 UTCYou have the right idea lucky but further on even in the LN you find out Gremmy was just locked up the entire time and he was only ever nice to one other quincy that visited him. Everyone else avoided him since he could just body them so he never really had to want to kill anyone because people just knew not to mess with him. Also I think he wanted to beat kenpachi with power not just kill him though he wanted to win the fight with his imagination without just rushing for the kill. I also want to imagine how insanely broken Gremmy would of been if he knew how to use Vollständig. All the other quincy's use that as their trump card for an insane power boost but Gremmy is just clueless.

Askin (the aizen looking stern ritter) says "he should never have got out" or sth like this if I remember well, telling us by that sentence that Gremmy was locked up. It's not that important and I understand they try to rush things now in order to make space for new content that isn't the manga (which was rushed in the end too tho) and explain things more clearly but it's still a bit sad they cut that much in this episode imo

2023-08-20 18:44:06 +0000 UTCThere's a lot of reasons people speculated to why Gremmy didn't just imagine Kenpachi's head get blown off, but my most favourite one, and the one that's also shown in this episode is when Kenny said "Shouldn't the strongest want to fight the strongest?" Goading Gremmy to try and actually beat Kenny to submission, and so Gremmy attempted, and he was having a blast at it too. And after Gremmy realizes Kenny is a monster, it was already too late for him. Kenny got in his head.

Absolutely. But remember his little revelation just before that part; for the first time in his entire existence; the brain in the jar is actually enjoying itself. He *could* just imagine him dying; but that wouldn't be fun, would it? Also here's a little spoiler-less foreboding; exactly where Gremmy places in the Quincy hierarchy of strength in his current state is debatable; since he clearly doesn't have the proper mindeset to make full use what he can do. But for as absolutely insane and broken as the Visionary power is; Gremmy only has, at best, the *second* most powerful ability in the series.

Most of these chapters was just action so there was not too much that was cut. The biggest cut that I recall from the top of my head are the reactions to Gremmy's meteor where everyone (both Quincies and Soul Reapers) were freaking out because of the meteor.

2023-08-20 15:01:25 +0000 UTCI think Grammy didn't imagine ppl's head exploding at the beginning of every fight makes perfect sense because he never considered anyone a threat to him so he doesn't need to kill someone so quickly (unless he consider you so weak that's not worth his time) for someone as strong as Kenny who keep breaking through his imagination power self doubt will set in and eventually Grammy will lose to his own power. and by the time he truly considers you a monster and an actual threat to him making his head explode probably won't even work anymore due to self doubt already in place. I want to give Kenny the credit where credit is due but the fact that Kenny was able to cut space is maybe partially due to Grammy's subconscious already consider him a monster and he knew somehow he will survive no matter what. (I can see Kenny cutting through a meteor but cutting space is some DBZ Gotenks ss 3 shit lol I don't think bleach character are at that level yet lol remember this is with eyepatch on btw) and knowing what's going to happen there are quincies that are stronger than Kenny I don't think Kenny's ability to cut through space is real cuz if that's the case he would have killed the other super strong quincy later on in the show (you guys know who I am talking about, kubo also revealed how to defeat that one super strong quincy so if Kenny truly have the power to cut space he would have defeated him)
