The silence between the sentences, seeing how Thorfinn saw the world as a child on the battlefield and Einar's emotional chaos from hate to anger to finally pity and compassion is great. And of course Thorfinn's voice actor, his scream gives me goosebumps every time. I love that the story takes its time with Thorfinn's trauma. It should, because Thorfinn has been on the battlefield since he was five or six years old! Just think of what we did at that age. He has spent the last eleven years killing to survive and to achieve a goal that was taken away from him in the end.... Of course, this man is broken. What is left for him? His family? He was separated from his family when he was six years old. Do you remember the first six years of your life? I don't really. A lot of animes don't really show what such terrible experiences do to you at that young age. That's what makes Vinland Saga so unique for me. The story takes time for these things. One of the best stories I've seen in a long time!
