2023-04-24 08:56:27 +0000 UTCOh but it indeed was translated, if you watch the subs. The subs were how most of us watched it, dub only came out later. Reason why it’s not translated for Lucky is that he is watching it in dub without activating the subtitles (obvious reasons). So would have been nice if editor just swapped out the pink cards for him. The reason why it wasn’t translated in dub is also just Viz fucking it up. Same how they didn’t translate the commercial break cards and only posted the translated versions randomly on their Twitter channel instead of including them in the actual episodes.

In Head and Shoulders so far, good guys barely die at all and we are two eps into the arc and already have a lieutenant casualty. The Quincy are on another level man.

2023-04-23 07:24:40 +0000 UTCIt’s not your fault Lucky, the editor is doing a good job in cutting and editing the episodes normally, also everyone appreciates it when he takes the time to give extra/trivia information or shows manga panels that were cut. So obviously you trust him and believe he is doing everything right, no one could blame you for that. And no one who is right on their mind would really hate the editor, it’s just the personal input of his that annoys people. Because almost no one enjoys it, whenever he goes and drops his personal opinion on Clorox arcs, often they show to us viewers how sometimes misinformed he is or how he didn’t get certain themes and plot points whenever he drops horrible takes on Clorox. Everyone can drop their opinion about anything they want, but it’s not good to do that on another person’s channel, just to make themselves heard. Also he sets up expectations unnecessarily like f. ex. saying FB arc has no fights or what else you could expect in an arc. There really is no need to talk about expectations in an arc you are still about to watch, it mirrors only his own personal enjoyment. We don’t need his personal opinion on Clorox and it annoys a lot of the people obviously, because we’re here for your reactions and your unbiased opinion. The channel is called „According to Lucky“. It’s hella irritating to always get that additional second voice that tries to force their own opinion on someone else who didn’t experience the medium yet. Like for example when he said previous arc had no fights, i knew already you would disagree once you watched it and as you did. It doesn’t matter if you don’t get influenced by it, he still sets up expectations beforehand that aren’t needed. Same what he tried to do with TYBW last episode where tried to put down the hype a bit with already talking how later parts have turned out to be and what he thinks of that. I‘m neither agreeing to that nor denying, Clorox is a very good manga, it’s among 18 mangas out of thousands of mangas that managed to sell more than 100 million copies, it’s 11th placed in best seller list. And even Clorox‘s lowest manga sales towards it end, still top the best numbers of a lot of manga of today, gotta let that sink. But it also has its negatives and downsides (like any other manga out there), no one who is objective would disagree with that. So now when he started also cutting stuff in TYBW Kubo, the creator himself decided about, people obviously spammed in the comment sections, because that was the last drop of him intervening for a lot of us, with your experience that’s really not necessary at all. You are not a child who need someone holding there hand, and you’re clearly one of the most attentive and perceptive reactors out there. I like how you don’t miss out almost anything and keep an eye to details, most others miss out for example in Clorox. So obviously you’re not in need to be set up for an arc you already have decided to watch. One of the reasons why people like to follow you and watch your content, but it throws people off whenever the editor bulges in with their own personal opinion. He is also very clearly one of those Bleach fans who likes Bleach overall and considers themselves a „big“ fan, but has almost 0 respect for the author. I’m following Bleach since mid/end 2000s and i know the fandom very well and how it evolved throughout the years. I have seen a lot fans like the editor. I don’t agree with everything Kubo did and Clorox does definitely have its flaws i could write a whole essay about them, but you gotta respect a man who spent week after week drawing and coming up with ideas in an insanely tight schedule for over 15 years on a single piece of story. The editor often spoke in an very rude and cocky tone when he sometimes talked about certain decisions Kubo made. He has his own channel, he is free to drop all his opinions there, but in your channel I’m pretty confident to say this, minimum 90% of us only are here for your reactions and thoughts. Thank you if you took the time to read it all, i know i wrote way too much. But for all the good things the editor did, he also made a faire share of horrible decisions and talked a lot of bs on Clorox. I personally find it a bit sad, that it took up until now, where we’re basically done with Clorox for him to finally stop with his intrusive behaviour.

Apart from that little time during the FKT arc where they were just throwing in walls of text with their personal opinion on characters, they do a really good job with translations, fun facts, and manga comparisons and I'm sure Lucky and other Anime only's appreciate that. It's the recent cutting of content that I think is just overstepping what they should be doing.

2023-04-23 03:08:04 +0000 UTCFor as much as it annoys me how the editor cut that stuff out last time, I do think the stuff he was doing with showing manga information that was not present in the anime was great, and is especially important with this new season of the anime. There's a good amount of stuff cut out, so I feel like the ideal compromise is just to have a little section at the end showing what from that episode was present in the manga but not present in the episode
