Yeah, it was stated that normal titans ONLY eat humans, so calling in your horse only carries risk for the horse if you're unfortunate enough to run into an intelligent titan.

Titans don't eat animals, it was stated in the first season. So Miche calling for his horse should have been unnoticed by other titans, because they won't be interested in a horse. However, the same is not true for the beast titan, this titan is different, as you can clearly see. It went for the horse, just so that it can stop Miche in his tracks. This titan is intelligent... Either way, Miche's dead... RIP.
