We learned what Itachi told Naruto is episode 152. And Madara already told them the truth about Itachi also, so he knows why Sasuke is suffering so much, no one else but Kakashi and Yamato do. (well except the elders and Madara.)

2020-12-06 18:11:11 +0000 UTCI just noticed, not only have the Sannin trained Team 7, we lost 2 Jiraiya and Orochimaru, and Naruto and Sasuke who've trained under those 2 who are dead are supposedly going to die when they fight each other. Can you imagine both Tsunade and Sakura are left alone? They would certainly know each other's pain.

They are already the elders so they have an advisory position but I think they meant somebody who can also have some power to make decisions as Danzo did which to me is a bad idea
