The way he was dressed like a worker in the cold months, working the fields, with his pointy medieval hood, wabbling doing the lord's of the lands work and bidding. Talked down to, scared to get hurt or murdered. Tony and Sil represented the rich lords of the manners or some rich bandit corrupt lords of medieval Italy in the big manor as Sil wobbles away.

2023-09-09 22:04:34 +0000 UTCI'm sorry the critique of Bobby is bullshit. Tony treated Bobby like dog shit from the moment he first appeared on the scene. Way before his first wife died and Janice came on the scene. If anything, Janice pushing Bobby and advocating for him put him in a position to earn more. When his first wife was alive, he was Juniors nurse maid. That's it. Bobby may not be the top earner, but he's doing way better than when he first started and that's due to Janice pushing him. His hobby isn't taking too much of his time. It's not a new hobby either. Look at his elaborate setup. And his hobby is expensive. His kid is a teenager. He wants to hang with his friends. Perfectly normal. Bobby was outnumbered by those kids who caught him by surprise and were armed and dangerous. That could happen to anybody, and even after the assault and being robbed, he still made sure that Tony got his cut. Bobby is doing his thing and getting bullied by Tony into the bargain.

2023-09-09 05:47:33 +0000 UTCDavid Chase stated that he had a problem with the audience identifying too much with Tony and seeing him as a fundamentally good guy but just misunderstood (just like Melfi, the audience is Melfi lol... notice how the camera is always fixed in therapy just like a television screen with no panning) and this season we really see Tony as a beast as Chase intended. The saddest part is that Tony was on a redemption path with the Ojibwe saying (remember how he made peace with Phil and Janice with his new outlook on life), but then he twists and perverts the saying to justify his own actions- especially with Arty in the hospital after a suicide attempt and Tony tells him "you go about in pity for yourself" and then extorts him for his tab right there. That and egging on Janice about Harpo when she was doing so well in anger management are moments where he was out of pocket.
