Monthly WIP #2: Randal Unused Sketch
Added 2019-09-17 02:11:55 +0000 UTCFor our second WIP this month, let's take a look at an unused alternative sketch for Randal's CG #1! Sh00 is an awesome artist, and frequently gave us a few potential sketch poses to choose from.
If you've played Randal's route in Red Embrace: Hollywood, you know that the final CG has the other Mavvar vampires higher up, surrounding him more closely. While we liked the mood that this angle presents (putting the other vampires on a lower tier than Randal, emphasizing his perceived power), the framing looks a little too empty with everything clustered at the bottom. It also feels a bit stiff and formal, like this is an arranged meeting rather than the Mavvar suddenly pushing Randal to speak.
In the final CG, the vampires are in an almost claustrophobic cluster around Randal instead—helping to make the atmosphere intense, but also providing a more balanced, aesthetically pleasing CG.
