Oh that's right, I saw that. Still, something over res con seems like a better choice?

It takes the flavor and versatility away from the Druid With templates .You can use beasts special abilities wich is a great way to partially close the gap between Druid and wizards. They should add a way for wisdom to scale your chance to hit but I’m guessing they thought it was op

Just curious Chris, are you doing a review of the 2024 dmg? That’s the next exciting thing to look forward to!

100% agree. I'm hoping an optional rule will find itself in the next Tasha style book

It's our fault. It was not well received in the One D&D playtest 4 survey so they went back to MM picks. It's a shame I think templates are better in every way just the PT4 templates themselves were bad. They should have given them one more try.

I do like the nuances of the stat blocks. I definitely understand templates 100% but I just think they are a bit boring. Perhaps if the beasts forms could just get like a dire form later that could be cool.

I think druid looks reasonable. Treantmonk is always correct, they can still cast 9th level spells and are very serviceable in combat and exploration

when we playtested the moondruid we had trouble with its defenses. They get a built in concentration check buff and become a temp HP factory (level 10, 30TempHP/round for a bonus action)

Why not elven acc at level 8? and finishing off wisdom with another half feat at level 12? It helps with the chance to hit and we don't really need res con considering we get to add or wis to con saves at level 6. It also helps that we can cast some of con spells in wild shape if we happen to lose it. Con is likely to be at 16 with a 15 +1 anyway so getting the plus one from res con is a little wasted

Are you planning to circle back to another subclass at some point. No need to do a video for all of them, but Circle of the Moon is so different from all the others, I'm curious if a Stars or Sea druid can keep up with other spellcasters for damage.

I'm still surprised WotC didn't go with templates. Help keep honest players honest by not looking through the monster manual, reducing the risk of meta gaming

I use a different calculation for the CR5/6 beast shapes because proficiency increases at that level. So mine were Str 22 at CR 5 and Str 24 at CR 6 since those led to the same predicted accuracy. Wouldnt change your calculations significantly though.
