Looking at the new fighting styles/maneuvers in Tasha's

In this video I cover all the optional class features for fighters.  I'll be looking at Psi Knight and then Rune Knight in my next two videos.

Hey Chris, thank you for your response! My comment wasn't ment so criticise the fact, that you only talked about switching with allies in your video. As this definetly will be the most common use. I just wantet to mention, that Bait and Switch can even work on non-allied creatures, as long as those are willing so switch - might be a bystander in a tavern brawl, who doesn't want to stand between you and your enemy; or a random commoner, just taken hostage by an evil guy duiring a chase; someone mind-controlled; or the like... But yea, probably not worth mentioning duiring a video :)

Yeah, generally when a subject needs to be willing, I assume allies only, though I suppose there could be situations where a non-ally could be willing, but probably not common enough to be worth going through in a video.

I don't believe so

To use Bait and Switch, it has to be your turn, you have to have a willing, not incapacitated creature within 5ft of you, at least one Superiority Dice left and at least 5 ft of movement left. So no, you can not use this maneuver on your own. Technically, the creature doesn't need to be an "ally", but it has to be willing and can't be incapacitated. (Some hours ago i made - meanwhile deleted - assumptions about switching with an enemy, but this would only work, if that enemy would be willing - perhaps if it was mind controlled or so)

Bolduin

I wouldn't think so, since the proximity is the trigger for the maneuver.

Element Zero

Can you use bait and switch for the AC bonus if you don't have an ally in 5 ft?
