Da Ruis looked back toward the camp where the majority of the Hu Clan currently rested. Fraternizing with lesser beings that would not have been worthy of kissing his boots as an outer court member of such a prestigious clan, much less act high and mighty before the single most powerful being on this dump of a world. The Patriarch was eccentric in ways that no one could understand.
Which fit the bill.
All ancient, extremely dangerous beings were oddly quirky.

The tension in the air would have been palpable had there been any actual threat to Yin Hu and crew.
He stared at the gathering forces around him, wondering whether he should just end the entire fight. Yet, the opportunity to provide this as a real life battle experience for his girls was too good to pass. They would likely never encounter another situation where they were so outnumbered, but were under no danger of actually fighting an enemy they could not beat.

Yin Hu and crew stayed with the caravan for the next few days. Never once separating long enough for anyone to give them a greeting without a second finding them immediately. He did not trust them at all.
Zhong Da continued to draw out conversations with Jin Bao and any other person that was willing to speak for more information. It was a blessing and a curse that the fat cultivator was so loquacious and took any opportunity provided to speak himself up. The curse being that it took nea...

Yin Hu and the rest of the group sat around a campfire with chairs that had been brought out by Jin Bao. Ostentatious pieces of furniture that had gold inlaid into the design with the largest, most over the top throne for the fat cultivator himself.
He shifted again, finding it the most uncomfortable thing he had ever had the misfortune of resting on.
Not only was it hard, it seemed to stick into his lower back with something sharp and made his chest hurt for some odd ...

Zhong Da flicked the coin toward the cultivator that had come to bother them. “I expect my change at the end of this journey.”
He knew well enough in the world of the Neutral Bloc, presentation and wealth were more important than anything else except pure power. Even then, a vastly rich merchant slightly weaker than another slightly less rich cultivator would be favored in most situations in their societal dynamics.
That meant his actions had to be tailored in c...

“Welcome! Welcome to the Caravan of the one and only Jin Bao,” Jin Bao walked toward them, shouting in a boisterous voice that was nothing like the normal one he had just used a few seconds ago. The fat man fell into his merchant persona without a hitch, shedding the scantily clad women and extending his arms out in a warm gesture. “I am the aforementioned Jin Bao. Merchant King under the purview of the Merchant Emperor of the Numb Hand’s Pavilion. To whom do I owe the honor of your v...

“In the name of the Numb Hand’s Pavilion, I said halt!” the armored man shouted again.
Two other men wearing armor with considerably less metal rushed to get behind the knight. Each one held a spear banner of the pale blue background and white, open palm, pointing them at Yin Hu and the smaller sized crew. The rest of the caravan’s protection began to mobilize though a lot slower.
Yin Hu hid the small smile that spread across his face. He was grateful for the giant b...

Hey! Its update time!
Update 1 -
First and foremost, I should hit 110k today for ancient being. Thats 60k in the past 3 weeks! I'll release another chapter today for the promised 2 a day!
Secondarily, you may or may not know but there have been large changes to the reviews/ratings on Amazon. They are purging and removing a lot of ratings without giving anyone a full explanation why.
Meaning: ARC reviews are far more valuable to prevent trolls and serial haters of a...

Yin Hu had expected a lot more once they cleared the initial areas surrounding the Bleak Forests. There should have been people, anyone at all. Cultivators flying around in groups with weapons at the ready and ‘attack and then apologize’ commands. Everyone had told him about the thousand year war and how all the cultivators would be up in arms at anyone or anything that looked remotely different or unrecognizable.
He had expected sirens to blare the moment they arrive...

Yin Hu forced the group to increase their pace until they finally broke through the final stretches of the Bleak Forests and into a new world entirely. They stepped out of the thick foliage into a clearing that was identical to the one they had passed when entering from the Demonic Bloc’s side. Ten meters wide and stretched over the entire border until it dipped past the horizon.
The ambience of the air, trees, plants, and everything else made the difference crystal ...

Meng Li sat at the peak of the mountain she had been living on for the past couple months. Her eyes closed, letting the ambience and heat of the sun beam upon her form. The wind snapped around her, but never got close enough to touch her. Breaking a few feet in front and joining together behind her.
It’s changed. Everything is different?
She couldn’t make heads or tails of the situation. How does an entire planet transform its Qi ether so thoroughly?
The differe...

The party stopped to stare at Yin Hu, awaiting his final decision and the path they would tailor everything to go toward.
Yin Hu’s entire plan to help develop Jun’s leadership had nearly backfired and was quickly shown why it was not the wisest decision due to simple dynamics he hadn’t really considered. It only proved the importance of having people like Zhong Da and Da Ruis within his Hu Clan to help him with these things. They understood the nuances of existing in a world...

“Jun,” Yin Hu said to pause her. She turned around with sweat beading down her forehead. “Da Ruis? You have something to say?”
The old ghost flinched. “I… No, Patriarch.”
Yin Hu frowned. He needed them to be good advisers to Jun and Shui when he wasn’t around. Having them go mute just because it would likely go against what he wanted even though it may be a better course of action would only limit what they could offer his girls. He couldn’t have them be ‘Yes M...

Yin Hu didn’t move from his spot until the flying stag completely disappeared into the horizon. No white, eerie fog remnant or anything else that would indicate that it may have tried to trick him into thinking it left. This included surveying the entire area with his perception skill multiple times in case an illusion had been activated or an array had been set up where they had settled into.
Only when he was positive there was nothing did he turn back to the collected Hu Clan....

As unexpected as it was to Yin Hu and the rest of the Hu Clan, the rest of the journey had been relatively quiet.
No more attacks and attempted plots to kill Zhong Da and his wife by white furred bunnies. No more kidnapping attempts on Jun and Shui. Nor was there anything that had bothered Rong and Da Ruis enough to go out and scout or study as they continued to push through the forest and toward their final destination; the Neutral Bloc masquerading as the Righteous ...

Yin Hu and the party learned a hard lesson on the sheer size of the palace.
The spacial array that made it look and take up so little space in the outside world turned it into a giant structure that was filled with giant caverns. More rooms than he thought possible, and the towers were taller with each being a dozen stories taller than advertised.
Yet, that wasn’t a bad thing.
If anything, it was a positive they had taken advantage of fully.
More ro...

Yin Hu stepped out of his pavilion and into the treasure pocket they were currently in. Setting it up was as simple as waving his hand and it appeared directly where he wanted it and it popped up perfectly. The bedding areas were made and clean, the small living room area had cushions well placed, and even private areas to shower and clean themselves connected to the rooms.
It would have cost an arm and a leg to have owned something like this, or so he thought.
Four ro...

Zi Zhen bowed to the Second Calamity, lady of the Forest, Mythical Fox Spirit Beast Ascendant.
A creature of myth and story tales that should not have been real. A fairytale just like the possibility of dragons taking human form, or white tigers and the golden crow. None of them should have been real. Spirit Beasts weren’t meant to have the ability to ascend to human heights. Limited they were in fundamental ways that prevented the Heavens from opening...

Yin Hu got closer to the crystal, making sure his perception was active the entire time just in case something happened.
There was a distant risk that his interaction with it may end up harming them, but the benefits were too great to ignore. An illusion array this powerful that was fully controlled by him would be one of the most beneficial items in his entire arsenal of miracle items just sitting there in his bag. Especially for his core goal of stability, peace, and tranquility...

The White Demon was a bunny? How powerful does a bunny have to be to put Zhong Da in a state as bad as he had been?
It was an incongruent image to associate power and danger with what might be the least vicious prey one could get their hands on. Even a child could snap a bunny’s neck without much issue once they got ahold of one. Their escapability might be their only super power. The single thing they had failed to accomplish as a race when trapped within this array.

Yin Hu continued down the stairway with Shui and the dragons following along. He could hear the rest of the party slowly trail behind them as they surveyed the massive cavern trying to hide the awe in their voices. No one stopped as they crossed veritable mountains of Superior Qi Stones on their path to the central source of light and energy within the cavern.
The crystal itself hadn’t wavered once since their entrance.

It seemed to have become his go to whenever he was faced with a difficult situation. Not only did it make it appear as though he knew exactly what he was doing at any moment, it helped buy time for him to figure a solution without rushing the situation.
“I see…” he said, clearly not understanding anything at all.

It took some time for them to recover from the effects of having gone through the funeral.
Yin Hu had an increasing amount of suspicion that their potent emotions had been made worse by the incense he had used. Everything within his rice bag exceeded their intended use. Meng Li laid upon the throne she had made of the old bag of bones two discuses stacked on top of one another. Piled up vertically without ever shaking or showing any sign of breaking apart. Having bits of her Qi in the air helped stabilize it as well, not that she would tell anyone that. Let them think her mere presence caused otherworldly effects around her being.
It helped create a powerful image that should buy her enough time to figure out what to do next.

Ancient Being -
1 - First four days of double chapters has been good to me! I had been worried about story fatigue which usually hits me harder than others (Hence why you see so many stories being written at once usually xD).
Thankfully, it hasn't been a problem at all. We went from about 10 ahead RR all the way to 30 within about a week or two. Hopefully hit up to 40+ by the time I need to sent it to RR for a week and then p...

The large entrance hall only grew larger as they walked through it now that it was empty of all the bodies.
Yin Hu, Da Ruis, and the girls strolled from pillar to pillar. They studied the smaller paintings and murals that covered each one. Stories of individuals, their lives, families, loved ones, and how they died. A hundred different tales all with a similar ending, though none of them went into detail what they faced or the minutiae of the why of the how they passed away. ...

Yin Hu had done nothing but walk up the visible barrier that had surrounded the gateway. It showed itself as he walked closer to it, shimmering in a fluorescent blue light that followed his gaze. Vanishing once he was not directly looking at it.
He stood before it for a few seconds, considering his options.
Wondering how he would get in and explore the building and all the towers.
