I love hearing BTS speak English because I know it must take them so much courage to finally say anything in english and also so much time/energy/practice to be as good of English speakers as they already are!
You can just see their faces LIGHT up after finishing an exchange in english and that is just the most wholesome thing ever, hehe. It kills me when they say anything with the upmost confidence and Namjoon swipes in to correct them HAHA!

So since Jungkook studies the most english out of the members, is he the second best speaker or is it Yoongi? The sneaky english speaking professional.. 🤔

In the clip the translator rewords the question very diplomatically as like, have you ever been on a date with fans, have you ever been in a relationship with them, etc. Which is still a crazy question to ask any idol!

V and Jimin “Beach, B*tch” JK “I know her face, but I don’t know name” “I know movie, but I don’t know movie name”. I love the times when RM says something about how the guys don’t speak English, then Yoongi embarrasses him and starts talking in English.

I think he has also improved so much bc he’s confident like you say. Speaking the language even if it’s broke English at first really helps you get better. I think this is one of the biggest struggles with the members in general. They understand way better now but speak are still kind of shy to speak. Anyway, I totally agree with you about JK too haha. Well, i think it’s the same with the others too. They read and memorize their lines and what they have to say at concerts or interviews a lot. Jungkook sounds great but for what he has said in his Weverse lives, most of those clips are things he memorized. Still he has improved and he will get better if he keeps doing those kind of promotions. Abd yess we haven’t heard Taehyung’s English that much bc he mostly promoted layover in Japan and korea!

2025-01-24 20:55:42 +0000 UTChobi has gotten so good at English 😭 he always has been one of the more confident english speakers but his pronunciation has improved a lot. JK is cute... I think he understands it really well but when he speaks, you can see the gears grinding, lol. I know he pre-memorized a lot of his interview answers for his album promotion spree, but I was still quite impressed at how natural he sounded. I hope he keeps at it, especially since he wants to be the global popstar. 😊 Have we heard tae speak much english lately? I can't remember. I do remember being INCREDIBLY impressed with his Japanese when he promoted layover in Japan. He's close to, if not fully conversationally fluent, or at least, really good at faking it!

You picked up on a lot of this during the SLA album listen. But there's a lot more to it and he covers it really well. Then Please react to the "making of the video SpineBreaker" followed by their live performance of it. Trust me as an old army, you will adore it. Jin is ICONIC. They made the video themselves in a hotel. Also I want to add to the reaction request list: 1. Louder than Bombs, (no music video so audio only but holy moly is this song a favorite of Army for a reason. 2. Outro Tear: Live at Wembly. This performance of it when they are fitted in black Dior. (Not the one in white). Hobi 's fit is iconic and this is the the song Suga wrote when the band was considering not renewing their contract. When he took it to the other members, they said they all cried and obviously they did stay together. This is part of the chain of emotions you've seen where they are crying on stage. Hobi had them wrecked that year during the acceptance speech when he announced that "breakup" had been discussed. "Jin crying beautifully" came from this as well as Tae sobbing. The rendition of this song after RM and JHope adding their parts is so good. I can't even explain to you how good this is. Hobi has me in tears every time I see it. 3. The House of Army Skit they did where Jhope's iconic "Calm down my daughter" line comes from. It has a lot of easter eggs in it like RM losing his passport, RM breaking stuff, Tae's fanboying over the cyphers and wanting to rap, Suga "the best dancer" and getting sued, and so many more, including Jin as a banana. 4. Crystal Snow live. A fancam on Jin will give you chills when he hits the triple high note. 5. I know you're going in order for the MVs so I won't suggest any of those but I watched your reaction to a few at the beginning of the BU and that whole series of mvs portray the BU boys, not the BTS boys. But there are a lot of components to the BU that make those BU videos hard to understand if you haven't seen all the stuff in the right order. I would suggest listening to the audio and the dance practice if you don't want to dig into the BU yet. "I need you girl", "Run", and "Fake Love" all tie into the BU. And prologues, Japanese versions, the web series, and more are needed to really understand those Mvs. I was there as they dropped and it was still so confusing. Another option (and what I did) is watch the xceleste video (the updated one), explaining the BU. It's SO well done and it made so much sense. It may spoil some future songs (I can't remember), but I think at this point (or when you finish MOTS7), you'll be fine watching it as in the BU, one member is looking for the map of the soul. So many images in so many mvs have hidden meanings to the BU. I love how smart they were in doing this! This is just my opinion so take it with a grain of salt. I just think you will get so much more out of the videos if you understand stuff like why Jimin and Hobi are in the hospital, why Suga and JK fought, why JK was letting himself get beat to shit, why RM dropped a lollipop/cigarette into the money, why Tae was stabbing the dude and ended up under water, why Hobi is in a room of circus stuff and lying on snickers, Suga is always dealing with fire, etc. Ngl, IT'S A LOT. XCeleste did a great job breaking it all down for us. Lastly, IMO, Blood Sweat and Tears exist outside the BU but it has a deep story behind it. There's an explanation video (Boracity maybe? Let me know if you need a link) for it. The concepts in BST, and a lot of their music is inspired by Carl Jung's philosophy (Persona, Ego, Shadow, etc). BST is based on a book RM was reading and it has so much symbolism in it about the loss of innocence, dealing with temptation, and the story Damien by Hesse. (The quotes from RM are from the book). It explains the statue Jin kissed (Abraxas) and how that was the turning point of acceptance of the loss. When I saw that video, I was sitting in my office on my lunch hour and I had to cancel a meeting because it blew my mind and I was not ok. Lol. I've seen it 1000 times and it still makes me feel like I've had 3 shots of tequila and ready to table dance. It made me FERAL. Jimin in a blindfold, JK as Icarus, RM and his absenthe, Tae as a FALLEN ANGEL. LAWD. Knowing the story just made it even better. And putting the boys in the dark prince vampire vibe was..well..that stylist needs a raise. And a medal. Whew. Last lastly, when you get to spring day, please watch the explanation video with it. And make sure you're in a good place to hear about something upsetting. It's being associated with the ferry tragedy and it will make more sense if you watch them together. RM said he didn't write it specifically about the tragedy but there's so much imagery in the video that corresponds to the ferry sinking that it's hard to imagine the video not being related. It's the song that has never left the Korean music charts based on this association. Sorry for the novel. I am so happy to watch your BTS journey. It makes me relive it through you. BTS, esp Jimin, saved my life in 2016. Literally. He's my bias and Tae is my wrecker. But sometimes Yoongi is. Sometimes all of them are. I love your channel. I've watched a lot of BTS reactors and I don't care for many of them for a variety of reasons. You're the first that I have felt a connection to and look forward to. Your authenticity and passion is magnificent. Keep up the great work. 2025-01-24 16:14:20 +0000 UTCI would say that Yoongi and Hobi are right now the best at English besides Namjoon (at least from interviews, concerts and content released from now). They have a really good understanding, pronunciation and vocabulary. We've seen Hobi studying English a lot through the years too and not much Yoongi but Namjoon says he takes lessons and we jokingly say he's secretly fluent lol. Well, all the members have improved a lot to be honest! I think Taehyung is one of the best too like Namjoon has mentioned in the past. When it comes to songs I think Jungkook sounds the most natural and I'm sure those experiences helps him learn faster. Jin may not have the best pronunciation but he has always had a really good understanding and he can hold conversations the best just like Yoongi. I was so proud and surprised when Jimin decided to do the interview with Jimmy Fallon in English as well! 💜

In their rookie years they all studied Japanese pretty intensely to the point where most of them were at least conversational, and a couple (RM and Tae in particular) seem pretty much fluent. And now, having built up pretty decent English skills, they really are multilingual kings

I would definitely say that none of them (besides joon of course) are fluent still, but they're SO much better than these old videos show.
