a guide to bts (for haters, skeptics and non-pop fans) REACTION! 💜

I’ve been itching to watch a new guide to BTS so imagine my excitement when this popped onto my YouTube feed!

I love Boracity’s videos, they always ensure to have so many facts to back up all of their claims and they love to use their channel to spread accurate information of BTS to any person considering becoming an Army!

I found this video to be insightful, even teaching me things I didn’t know along the way!

Do you think this would be a good guide to show any new potential army? Why or why not? 😊

Just like Yoongi said, “You’ll like BTS' music if you listen without prejudice”. A new favorite BTS guide dropped! This is perfect for people who just don't know much about them or nothing it all, but categorize or assume things they have experienced or heard that are the usual: generic, boyband, "K-pop genre", "music for teenagers", etc. I would love to watch a guide like this when I was discovering them. I was about to comment that I disagreed on some things in the first half of the video, but I waited and then I 100% agreed lmao. BTS is just so fcking diverse as artists and as human beings that it's hard to categorize them in something. It's the fact that I've been an Army for almost 9 years and I never had an idea or assumed 100% how their new song or album was going to sound or how their concept was going to be unless they gave some spoilers or hints. BTS is just BTS, like.. the only words that come into my mind are talent, artistry, quality, charisma, honesty, humor, and kindness.. even when I say things like this I can't help but think there's a contradiction, they are not always like that and they can do the opposite too. They just keep evolving. So, I have to give a further explanation because yeah, they are humble and kind, but they can also talk their sht or flex. They are so funny and silly. but they are so professional and serious when it's needed too and all 7 personalities are very different and have a duality. I guess the best BTS definitions are the ones they have used through the years: - " 'Beyond the Scene' stands for "symbolizing youth who don't settle for their current reality and instead open the door and go forward to achieve growth." - " 'Bangtan’ means to be resistant to bullets, so it means to block out stereotypes, criticisms, and expectations that aim at adolescents like bullets, to preserve the values and ideals of today’s adolescents" 💜

True, Hobi has so many clever literary references in his lyrics! I agree with boracity though that his ability to come up with a catchy hook is top notch

steph

Also his musical taste is pretty mainstream compared to the other members imo!

steph

That is one of my biggest pet peeves, ARMY who dropped BTS after Dynamite. 😒💜

Chrissy

Thank you for this video! I'm 42 y/o and i call my men (bias) yoongi 🤭💜

Derya

Yes please watch DDay Concert but please listen to the songs before. I don't like watching concert without knowing the songs!

Derya

Boracity really ate with this one

Betty Ba

Here's links for the clips you asked about: Fri(end)s live performance: https://youtu.be/VUFuh4glr8I?si=TWyxQu6aWeN8mnLG The clip where he plays the sax (it's a bouns clip after the band session): https://youtu.be/gPo-G0cSy-0?si=2Zj1yyeaDrOuGqqn The MV for Blue: https://youtu.be/sIh9_cNCwPc?si=l9ONquf94qp59mIt MMA 2020: https://youtu.be/PtaP4UkZKyc?si=25FmFoaWB3-EFJLD

Hope

There's an MV for EVERY SINGLE SONG on Layover

Hope

"army" who says they liked BTS before dynamite, always conveniently drop "BE" album to push this narrative

Hope

Btw Peachy, the dance practices you watched were funny versions not the actual dance practices, all of them had (cute ver., real war ver., Halloween ver., etc) but they are super serious and cool in the actual dance practices

Hope

Jungkook touching Jhopes waist TWICE in this video How do I make this about me .. 😂💀

HalSonyeondan

She said she did this for haters or someone who simply does not care about BTS like other who are willing to learn

HalSonyeondan

Unfortunately there is no good, complete BTS guide. You simply have watch content.

Apple Bee

This is a good brief intro into BTS, the Taylors Guide is well made but outdated at this point given the info is from 2022 the 2024 one is good just long so it's it rarely gets picked by reactors because it's 2 hrs+💜🤷‍♂️💜

Kona

PERIOD JAY!! Music is for everyone, there is no way to put a gender on it ^^

Peachy Saiyan

true!!

Peachy Saiyan

jungkook is mainstream because he's the main pop boy right now based on his talents and accolades, and i think that's what boracity is trying to tell. there's so many tweets in the past months about "there's not a main pop boy right now" and when armys try to answer that jungkook is, they try to ignore it and box him as just a kpop boy. this a very good swift intro about them. not too much info, just enough to know about the members 💜

outrolars

OOHH I didn't know there was a difference for the captions, thank you so much!!

Peachy Saiyan

Right!? this video was awesome!! OOOHH D-DAY would be SUCH a fun watch!!

Peachy Saiyan

I also want to be in between that Jk Hobi sandwich of Mic Drop! Lol! Yeah girl.. so much still to catch up. You'll get there!

Luna75

That's why Hoseok is my bias! He is an incredible all-rounder ❤️

Luna75

I hadn't watched this yet so it was really fun watching it together with you for the first time. Super impressed that boracity was able to pretty comprehensively cover all 7 members and the group in just 18 minutes. We've been needing an updated guide (that isn't 3 hours long) and this one delivers!! Highly recommend all the performances showcased here that you haven't seen yet. The part with Yoongi singing at the piano is from his D-Day Tour! 💜

steph

I actually watched this twice by myself today, it's so good! And was happy to watch it a third time with you, Peachy! I think when Boracity was talking about J-Hope's music, she said he is known for his "catchy choruses". I think you might have had the subtitles set to "English - Auto-generated" instead of just "English", because some of those captions were crazy, heh.

Jen H.

@20:10 "J-Hope is most known for his catchy choruses..." I didn't catch it on the first pass, either. 😁💜

Vartite

She said “catchy choruses” for j-hope. I do like this intro vid but I always think it’s a little bit of a travesty when intro vids don’t even spare a line for Hoseok’s writing (which is clever and narrative heavy and profound) or his performance (especially given the fact that he’s known for his immense stage presence). All the popular intro vids omit mention of that entirely and as an artist—as a rapper—i think those two aspects (his lyrics and performance) are so integral to his craft. I love Boracity and respect her work. And it’s a good intro vid for its purpose. It’s just for me personally, I’m still waiting on one that talks for even a second about j-hope’s lyricism and performance. Too many new ARMYs don’t know he has 146 writing credits to his name and it takes them months to clock his performance skills bc he gets so little camera time sometimes. It’s tragic for them. 😅😭 Anyway, no shade, just my opinion. :)

SNBangtan

Yay! I watched this when she posted it and was hoping you would watch it. I like how her run down is more about the music. It gives a different type of guide than the ones usually done and like that there is both. To be fair to us a lot of the video you were questioning have been mentioned in the comment section before. But to be fair to you too. BTS just has so much content and add in their solo projects it to hard to pick and chose what to react to. The 2 videos you saw of V's live performance I will put a link for you (it is actually going to be 4 videos..haha) also, Tae was playing a Saxophone and it will be in one if the videos I link for you. Tae's band session 1. Love Me Again - https://youtu.be/r2rZXrsBAfE?si=iErj9yjA-IXelBIj 2. Slow Dancing also part of the Band Session - https://youtu.be/gPo-G0cSy-0?si=nHkhczZ-nla7MN1q 3. Tae's live performance on Fri(end)s - https://youtu.be/8ZyYO8OmscI?si=BE_29w8yFBhlcnYr This last video was not part of the guide but I saw someone recommend it before and I know you will love it. It is Jimin dancing to "Stuck With U" by Justin Beiber and Selena Gomez - https://youtu.be/Qtfiq25vlQw?si=V1J8J3jn_f0vveiz Ok that is all. 😁

Venita Morse

How much you love your members And what your label allows you to do.

Angela

Great Video Peachy. I do feel like sure In the Beginning a lot of ARMY was teenagers the same age as the Members so that argument was valid maybe the first year of their debut but I think casual viewers and fans forget the Fans have grown up with BTS over the past Decade so all or the vast majority of the OG Army's are in their 20's and 30's NOW. but yeah I always get annoyed when people I know and even other reactors say BTS is for teenage girls I am a Guy and have been a BTS fan for 8 years now since I was 16.
