Once the ball was rolling, I just couldn't stop and I'm glad I didn't because I had an out of body experience listening to this cover LMAO.
The outfits?!?! The Hair?!?! The face cards?!? THE VOCALS?!? THE HARMONIZING?!
I literally have no words. This cover was just phenomenal and I loved being able to hear rap line not only sing but harmonize with all of the vocalists as well!
This cover was just what I needed for a cozy day and I really hope I can find it on Spotify because I need this in my life DAILY!

I really loved this cover because we were all surprised with the whole rapline harmonizing with the vocal line. They've all done so in previous songs in the background vocals or even live performances it just wasn't so prominently featured in a vocal line type song. I got a little emotional the first time.

It's insane to me that the original artists Coldplay were not only cool with it but praised the guys yet this random racist radio host cursed them out for covering the song. And then Coldplay did My Universe with BTS 🤣He must of hated life that day I guess lol

Bangtan of course changedit to a couple of octaves higher due to their diversity in voices and range and honestly.. they killed it! I still put the original Fix You as my favorite bc is just nostalgic, untouchable and iconic but BTS' cover is just as good 💜. I remember being so excited and curious of how they were going to do it and Bangtan didn't disappointed it all, actually they surpassed my expectations that were already pretty high. Coldplay's fans and the general public really loved it too since BTS made justice to the beauty and vibes of the song. The way the rap line and the vocal line were harmonizing was so freaking beautiful 😭💜 Fun fact: Jin became viral after this cover due to his sweet and strong vocals and of course the high note. He was the "pink mic guy" 💖

2024-11-25 10:57:34 +0000 UTCHi Peachy, BTS recorded their cover of Fix You in early 2021. At that time they had only recorded one all English song Dynamite. RM said during Dynamite promotions that he actually sings the whole song, very low in the background because he is the best English speaker. So when it came to this cover, they paired him with many of the vocalists. What a treasure this was for us. I like to think I don’t have a BTS bias so I can award a MVP or two for each performance. I was so excited for RM to win it…he deserved it because he sang so well with Jin, JK and Jimin…That was until Jin (who went viral as Pink Mic guy) hit THAT note. Years later it’s still my all time fave Jin note. Yes, I like it even more than his famous triple high note in Crystal Snow - which might be controversial to some. But I think the way he delivered that note was utter perfection. Often singers will ‘over’ sing…Jin belted that note immaculately. Needless to say he stole my MVP from RM! Speaking of brilliant Jin notes he also does an amazing job in another BTS cover - Come Back Home. This is a cover of Seo Taji & the Boys song. There’s a great back story to the cover. Seo Taji is considered the Founding Father of K-pop. In 2016 he held a 25th anniversary concert and had BTS perform not just one but a bunch of songs with him. He also encouraged them to do the cover of Come Back Home. From what you know after watching the Rise of Bangtan you’ll appreciate in 2016 BTS weren’t always getting the recognition they deserved- sadly especially not at home in Korea. So to have Seo Taji validate BTS…he literally said he was passing the torch to them…you can imagine how huge it was for BTS and ARMY. Covering big western artists in his live streams, it seemed only natural for him wanting to become an international popstar. And to pull off Bruno Mars, Justin Bieber, Adam Levine, Sam Smith, Harry Styles etc...covers with ease, just proved where he was destined to go. And with his English annunciation you would never tell that it wasn't his native language. Yes I agree, by the tine he got to LONDON after his New York promos and filming the first 3 episodes of AYS he was so ill and could barely breathe so to pull that song off the way he did just proves the superstar that he is.

My favorite part was Jin and Yoongi at the towards the end. I have replayed that part so many times. Jin got a lot of attention because of that part of the song. It sounds so good. The first time I listened to this cover i was the same. I loved hearing the rapline sing those octaves with the vocal line. I am so glaad you reacted to this. I hope you also listened to some JK covers. One i hope you listened to is "Faliing".

I’m so glad you finally got to it. As an early Coldplay fan, this is one of my favorite songs of theirs. I think they were already working with Coldplay at the time or at least planning to so maybe why they chose this song? PS I am a loyal Jinkook bias but I am always feral for Hobi here. The suit, the hair, the beautiful voice… he is giving professor who is stern but checks in with his first year intro level students to make sure they are doing okay (sorry this is a Very Detailed fantasy lmao)

Far too many labels form groups with similar voices and though it sounds nice, there's no 'flair' to make it interesting or dynamic. BTS has a cover of "I'll Be Missing You" that's also great!
