Hope on the Street: Episode 1 | First Time Reaction!

Hi Extra Peaches ~

Surprise, we're checking out a new show!

I originally wanted to react to J-Hope's movie tonight but my vocal chords and exhaustion said NO! so I decided to scope around for something else and I stumbled upon this hidden gem! I had NO idea J-Hope had a mini series where he dives into his love of dance and goes deeper into his roots so I am super excited to explore this series more! I really enjoyed the first episode and I really believe I'l be able to get to know J-Hope so much better watching this series.

Let me know how you feel about this show and us watching it in this tier when we're craving BTS cozy shows but maybe don't have the spoons for an hour and a half show or movie ^^

Love you!

What happened to the the rest of the episodes? Was it not continued? This.is not just about seeing Hobi dance , this is him helping uplift the underground dancers as his way of paying forward and paying homage to his roots. You get to hear insights too from veteran street dancers about life in general, learning more about Hobi, his thought process and creativity on how he creates his own music and content.

Really glad you're covering Hobi now. I'm here for it 💜

Mady Hunt

Milagros Campos

How about the rest of the episodes??

Laura

I can't wait for you to see the rest. It's really good

Celeste J

I cant wait for you to continue!!!

Nanon ApoBangpo⁷

I love how you’re being wrecked by all the members as you learn more about them. You’re a true OT7!

TheSnoozeUntold

can't wait for you to continue this series!!! even though it might not be funny stuffs like are you sure or in the soop of the guys hanging out, but this series really give me a lot of inspiration about life in general. It makes me feel great and like I accomplished something while watching his whole journey!!!

noel

That's so easy to do, and there is so much misinformation spread about their positions in the team. I had to go back and fact check myself after my first post and make corrections. 💜💜

I love this series. I love dance, but know very little about street dance, so it was fascinating to learn so much about it. You will learn so much about Hobi as a person and a performer through this series. Also, you don't have to watch Hobipalooza first; the two projects are totally independent from each other. This is Vol 1 though, and Hobi said he had a six month plan for after the military, so there is speculation that we might get Hope on the Street Vol 2...

bugsnbobbin

Oh thank you. I got it mixed up🙏

May I interject? The dance line has two positions: Main Dancer, Lead Dancer. The Main has the most responsibility in the team, then the Lead. In BTS, JHope and Jimin are both Main Dancers. JHope also has the role of dance leader, meaning he helps the other members with the choreo, and he cleans and perfects their performances for the stage. Jimin sometimes assists with that role, or steps into it when Hobi is not there (as seen in the Grammy Butter Behind videos). Jungkook is the only Lead Dancer. After JHope and Jimin, he often has pivotal placement in the choreo, anchoring the team, and the three of them will often have solos, or perform together. V is an interesting case when it comes to the dance line. Son Sungduek said in 2018, after V's performance with "Singularity," that he was officially promoted to the dance line. However his official positions as registered do not include Lead Dancer. Since 2018, the members have spoken about the dance line consisting of JHope, Jimin and Jungkook only, so take that as you will. I don't mean to disparage any member, nor imply that one is less talented than another. All seven are incredible dancers, and BTS would be incomplete if any one of them were missing. I just hope that each member's official positions and the work they do for the team could be recognized. Okay. Off my soap box. I apologize for the rant.

And also all of this is about dance style and inspiration ☺️ as he said, Dance is life ☺️

MYGloml

Yes. They're always hands on for all of their projects ☺️

when you get to his movie, you really need to watch his concert at Lollapalooza (aka Hobipalooza). His movie actually touches a lot on that since it was a huge deal!! And there's really no better way to get to know him than to watch him perform his music on top of getting the behind the scenes of it in the movie. The performance is about an hour long so... def need to set time for it. Hobipalooza: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ak5yOmj8W8 If you want J-Hope MVs here they are! perfect to watch before he returns from the military next month, whether or not you react to them all (just so you know, don't feel obligated to react to EVERYTHING. BTS have over a decade of content and as much as people want to see you react to things, I don't think there's enough time in the world to react to every piece of content they've put out... it's overwhelming!) But since you said you didn't know if you just couldn't find J-Hope stuff, I wanted to make a list of MV's with links so at least you have those! You've barely scratched the surface on the boys, which is fine!! just means you have a lot to look forward to :) Chicken Noodle Soup ft Becky G: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i23NEQEFpgQ Daydream: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OK3GJ0WIQ8s Airplane (which is technically part 1 to Airplane Pt 2!): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8O_MwlZ2dEg MORE: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pKdBFeewZYE Arson: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QmpTkkaKYSU Neuron: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z4Rg_VgOlJU Outro: EGO Comeback Trailer (this is technically a BTS song, but it's J-Hope's solo, it was the comeback trailer for their 2020 album Map of the Soul: 7): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LmApDbvNCXg And you've already seen On The Street :)

He does some vocals in some BTS songs but he also has some on his albums, one my most fav songs with his vocals is the song called mama and the live performance to mama 🥹💜💜 he wrote this to his mom and I cried.

Emily Sanchez

Aww I’m glad you decided to watch this! It’s so good! There’s also a BTS concert on Amazon I’d loved for you to react to it. 💜

terri lynn

This show is amazing! It’s unique among the bts shows, because it’s not only about him, but also really educational about the different dance genres - i also know very little, so I was so grateful he made this! I lowkey recommend you listen to his hope on the street vol 1 album first though, because each episode focuses on one song from the album (and one music/dance genre, one city, one famous collab dancer who j-hope learns from), and they always dance to the song at the end of the episode, so it might be more fun if you know them already? But you don’t have to - the show is also great as it is! This is a different album by the way, because he wrote it with the show already in mind (kind of like an original soundtrack), so he write each song to fit a different dance genre and collabed with people he loves/admires on every song. The only music video for this album is neuron - any others you might see are probably fan-made 😅

CC

Most of the music in this documentary it’s his music.

Emily Sanchez

Hi, I’m usually a silent watcher but I just want to say that I really appreciate how frequently you’ve been uploading!! You work really hard and I look forward to waking up to your uploads everyday 💕😊 thank you so much and have a good day!! 💜💜

Breanna Smeester

this is so exciting!! hopefully you can watch J-Hope's Jack In The Box documentary after this series, its a must watch

Kimberly Rodriguez

Yay! I'm glad you are watching this series. This series is a good watch and I personally really enjoyed it. Hobi's first teachers were his dance crew back in Gwangu where Hobi is from and Jimin is the one that went to Busan Arts High Sch. The guys have really been the ones putting their projects together and really taking over what they are doing. Since 2020 when BTS was working on their album BE BigHit really started to to let BTS direct their own projects. Now during their solo era have been having almost full control over their projects and I have been love it. Watching Jhope talk about what he is so passionate about is so much fun to me. The same with all the guys, which is one of the biggest reasons these documentaries have been so fun. You can see the passion they have about their work. I'm editing my comment as I watch so sorry if it is long.. haha when Hobi said he had 3 wks, he istalking about 3 wks to prepare for the documentary. But you are good, the only thing I would say if you want you could do a full album reaction to Hope on the street Vol 1 before continuing but you don't have to. The advantage we had going into this is that we saw teaser trailers and know it was about dance. Yes, Jhope was the first to release his solo album "Jack in the Box", and for this series he released his second album "Hope on the Street Vol. 1". I love Hobi's clothes style. He is the type of person that no matter what he wears it looks good on him. There is no official MV to I Wonder the song with JK. If you are ever looking for MVs it will always only be on HYBE'S official channel or on BANGTANTV which is BTS's official channel. If it is not one of these channels it is a fanmade MV. The only songs from this album that has an official MV is "Neuron" and "Hope on the Street ft J. Cole" the solo version doesn't have an MV.

Venita Morse

I wonder... the song has Jk singing. Episode 1 is just a overall of what all the other episodes are going to cover. You're good.

Angie

Yes, this first episode was an introduction to the series. I learned a lot of dancing terms. I love this series and will enjoy watching it with you!

FABBST-Dawn

I love this Series 😩💜

Sakyiwaa Mensah

Yeah Jhope was the first to release a solo album (Jack in the Box).

Sakyiwaa Mensah

BTS dancing House is my Roman Empire 😫💜‼️

Sakyiwaa Mensah

Yes Jhope is the lead dancer of BTS Jimin,V and Jungkook are the main dancers ( Hence part of the dance line with Jhope). Jimin is the member who went to the Busan School of Arts.

Sakyiwaa Mensah

All the songs in the Background are Jhope songs from his Album “ Hope on the Street Vol.1”. You could do an album reaction before you continue with the rest of the episodes or not idk🤷🏽‍♀️😂😭💜 Anyways I can’t wait for the Jack in the box movie reaction 😫💜

Sakyiwaa Mensah

Honestly I have only seen a few episodes. I believe it’s mainly about dance, since Hobi is a dancer above all.
