Interesting crossovers in this film in that Jon Voight based his charactesrs look on Eddie Bunker who makes a brief appearance in Reservoir Dogs, who Danny Trejo knew from prison!

If you want a good crime movie i recommend 'The Town' with Ben Affleck

Al Pacino's deliveries are so insane. He's like Nicolas Cage in that he's a great actor with the most batshit instincts ever. Whenever I see A.I. being discussed in regards to entertainment, I think there's no way an A.I. Pacino could ever recreate the magic of "SHE'S GOT A.... GREAT ASS!!"

N.T. Stars

I wish! Maybe one day...

For more Val Kilmer: Batman Forever. For more De Niro: Stardust. Pacino: Insomnia

Danny Trejo has a unique contract clause that requires any villain he plays to die by the end of the film, emphasizing a moral message that crime does not pay.

Score is great, all the performances are great, the choreography is great on the shootouts, LA nightscapes are all framed/designed well, and the general sound design (both speech and effects like gunshots) are all outstanding. To think that this was originally written and intended to be a pilot for a television show; you can understand that if you really pay attention to how they did the diner scene(s). Too bad it's copaganda of the highest order, LAPD no less. Bad guys won.

It's fun when the mic picks up the purring.

Great movie! Another very good Michael Mann film with some great night shots is "Collateral" with Tom Cruise and Jamie Foxx. It would also be in the crime genre. Edit: Um, never mind. You've already seen "Collateral". Same director as this one, so now you know why this movie has such great night shots.

And this one got me to subscribe ! I can now go and watch your full reactions to all my other faves. This is Michael Mann. When I was a teen in the 1980s Mann brought us an incredibly stylish. and incredibly violent TV show called Miami Vice. All of his films bring a gritty realism, sumptuous visuals, and he loves using the colour blue. More essential Mann ; Collateral - Jamie Foxx and Tom Cruise in Mann's love letter to Los Angeles Miami Vice - Foxx and Colin Farrell in an uber stylish reboot of the hit TV show Surprisingly this film features two baddies from the Thomas Harris novels which were made into movies. We have Ted Levine (Mike the moustached cop that was shot) who played Buffalo Bill in Silence of the Lambs and Tom Noonan (the guy who sold the bank job heist) who played The Tooth Fairy in Mann's TV version of the book Red Dragon. Noonan's character also inspired a character from GTA V. The shoot out was based on a real life event. They tried to dub the sound in the editing suite, but nothing sounded as terrifying as the raw audio capture of gunfire reverberating off the downtown streets. Incredibly the café scene was the first time the pair had ever acted in a scene together. More Bob ; Ronin - Massively underrated high octane heist movie set in France with Jean Reno (Leon), Sean Bean (Ned Stark) and Stellan Skarsgård (MCU, Dune) The Deer Hunter - Oscar winner. Absolute classic with Christopher Walken More Al ; The Devil's Advocate - hot shot small town lawyer Keanu and his lovely wife (Charlize Theron) get lured to the big city to work for Pacino's high rise law firm Scarface - its a classic for a reason

Thank you for your reaction, both of you! We watched three of these actors in Ridley Scott's "Black Hawk Down" (2001), as a Delta Force operator, the lieutenant colonel in the primary Humvee, and the pilot of one of the downed Black Hawk birds.

ButtercupsTrueLove

the end-all be-all cops&robbers movie.

As amazing of a film as this is anytime, you can't REALLY appreciate it unless you've experienced it on the big screen.
