The cast in this have a lot of connections within a few films. Like C. Thomas Howell and Patrick were in the Outsiders together. Charlie Sheen who played the younger brother is real brothers with Emilio who also was in the Outsiders (along with Tom Cruise, Matt Dillon, Ralph Macchio, Rob Lowe to name a few), Jennifer Grey who played Toni was in Dirty Dancing with Patrick, but also had a scene with Charlie Sheen (the younger brother) in Ferris Bueller.

2025-11-19 23:24:55 +0000 UTCThis movie was a big deal when it came out. During the time the Iron Curtain and Cold War was very real. This was a look into what we really thought could happen. I remember at school even as young as 1st grade doing nuclear attack drills by hiding under our desks etc. Thank goodness we had ol' Ronnie Reagan as President at the right time. He was huge in making peace with the USSR and eastern Europe and bringing down the wall and uniting Germany. I grew up in a small town in southeast AZ this town reminds me of home. And yes everyone pretty much knew how to survive in the woods and ride horses as kids. As for Patrick he was raised on a ranch so he knew how to ride he also owned a horse ranch as an adult.

2025-11-19 20:20:50 +0000 UTCThis movie was a staple of my childhood!! Many an afternoon was spent “reenacting” key scenes with my Friends WOLVERINES🤘🏻 Be sure to watch the remake! It’s awesome as well and is not a straight up frame for frame remake.
