Oooh good question. I'm guessing his marriage ended because of something to do with Jimmy - not sure exactly how, but it seems like Chuck gets really obsessed with things involving him, so I could see that interfering with his relationship.

I can't remember if it's already been said (perhaps even by me) but after this episode, it's definitely worth this little tid-bit:
Michael McKean (Chuck) was given a very brief summary of his relationship with/feelings toward Jimmy during S1:
Chuck made mom proud, but Jimmy made her laugh.
He absolutely envies Jimmy's charm and wit. No matter how successful and admired Chuck is, Jimmy will always be more popular and liked because he's so personable.
Chuck S1E9: "You do what I do because you're funny and you can make people laugh?"
There's such layers to his contempt for Jimmy:
1) Is bad PR for the mega successful lawyer to have a conman for a brother
2) Because of the thing with the Dad's shop, he thinks he's always like that and always will be.
3) He blames him for the death of their father, or at least he certainly seemed to there.
4) He deeply envies his charisma.
5) He sees Jimmy scraping through the bar (3rd try) by attending a crappy, low-level course as him fast-tracking becoming a lawyer, whereas Chuck studied at the top institutions for years and lives & breathes the law.
This episode finally properly introduces Kim as a main character. Her montage is great, and I do also love the Spanish 'My Way' cover.
In that phone call montage she was once asked if she was single and another time was confused for being Howard's secretary, presumably because she's a female in a male dominated field.
Thought that was an interesting, poignant thing the writers put in there.
Also love Jimmy's early 2000s typing.
You may remember Chuck played the piano in the intro of S2E2. The piece he played then had Rebecca's name at the top, and he brushed her name sentimentally with his thumb then.
What do you think happened to her/their marriage?
He wasn't suffering with his electromagnetism issues back then...

Everyone: "Erin at Davis & Main is so unbelievably annoying."
Me, as an editor: "Erin is the best colleague ever."
