To Justin: Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, I completely disagree with your take. El Camino movie and BCS are of the too quality as BB.

I hope you guys watch “El Camino” (Netflix movie), then move on to Better Call Saul.
“El Camino” gives some needed closure to BB and is really well done as a movie.
Better Call Saul is amazing. The fact that fans can argue over which is better, Breaking Bad or Better Call Saul, is a testament to just how amazing both shows are.

Couldn’t agree more. With this show, BCS, El Camino…. These writers are probably the best group ever in television history. Everything is just perfect.

I can’t disagree with Hank and Marie at the dinner scene.
Also the vid is such a great and incredibly twisted callback to Walt’s film in the first episode of the series.
This is also one of the best acting performances from Aaron Paul. It feels so real! (Not that I know what it’s like to be in a meth empire 😂)

Can't wait I hope you do, people get sooo much more out of it when they don't leave a huge gap between shows and forget all the tie ins and references and interesting ways the plots intersect.

It's definitely a must-watch show. Personally, BBad is my favorite for the chills and thrills, but BCS has some hard-hitting revelations that retroactively put some interesting lights on BBad, as well (impressively, even in the very last episode). It's definitely a different flavor, though. These writers are master chefs, and with BCS, they flexed their abilities in multiple cuisines. If you loved their steaks, you'll love their lasagna.

He's a wildly good actor, so I absolutely believe that!

You're so right!! Sooo much talent in this team of writers. Also Hankenberg is a great name haha

The movie & better call Saul polluted the Breaking Bad universe. It’s hard to believe they were made by the same guy. Complete & utter slop

That confession tape is the ultimate writer's flex.

Chandra not even being certain the one saying he wants to smack the kid was about the fact he's wearing a helmet really does highlight the generational differences. Not saying we'd all think the kid would be better off with a smack, but I doubt anyone over 50 had any hesitation understanding what he was saying.

Would love that. BCS is better even than BrBa in my opinion

Being confident and reckless doesn’t make someone Heisenburg. I get what you’re saying, that traits were always there but there is a clear story that leads to Walter becoming Heisenburg

In my opinion, he was always Heisenburg at his core. The Walt we see in the beginning was a facade that developed as life beat him down. He then sheds it as the series goes on. Even in the few flashbacks we get of younger Walt, he's much more confident and reckless than he is in the pilot. Gretchen also implies that he was selfish, cold, etc.

One of my favorite episodes of the entire show, the accusation of Hankenberg as the mastermind of the entire empire is wild. These writers, man, they're the best I've ever seen. Not only did they write the show without a specific series of events in mind, but they reverse engineered their own improv writing for BETTER improv writing where they re-frame events to... well... *frame* another character for an entire show that we've been watching for 5 seasons. I've never seen anyone do that before. Any other story, be it for a Sherlock caper, or for a movie like Memento, they had to write it that way from the beginning. This is absolutely nuts.
And yeah, those cliffhangers actually, somehow, defying all odds... actually get worse hahah

I definitely don’t think Walt was always Heisenburg, it was definitely a progression for him to get to that point

So close to the end, and it gets even crazier from here 😈
I don't remember seeing it discussed but I really hope you both plan on jumping into Better Call Saul once this is over.
It's an amazing show with some incredible themes, backstory, and Easter Eggs that are so much more satisfying if you still have Breaking Bad fresh in your mind.

The confession is my favorite piece of writing on this show!

Walt's confession tape is dripping with unbelievably good goodness. You feel the shackles close in tighter & tighter on Hank- especially considering his violent past with Pinkman. Not to mention basically bailing Walt & Marie out of jail. Bryan acted out the whole scene in one take.
