I'm so curious how Beast Boy in this story would handle being able to turn into a Krypto-dog. He could just turn the Kryptonian powers on and off at any time without even being a dog specifically. But could he activate just the powers and not weaknesses? He's gotten pretty granular, could that be the ultimate test of his powers? Also would he even need to interact with Krypto? Would humanoid Kryptonians be considered an animal separate to humans? If so, so could Tameraneans. Though there's also the question of how he'd be able to overcome them in his inner Animal Kingdom. That could be a chapter all by itself just Beast Boy dominating two of the strongest alien species and achieving maximum power. This is all SUPER indulgent and maybe would take away from the themes of him working hard and creatively to ascend, but fun to think of cx
