Season 12 Episode 9 spoilers: this season is picking up!!

Is season 12 actually getting back on track? After a couple of really good Search & Rescue episodes, okay, episode 8 was a bit crappy - but I LOVE episode 9! Both segments are SO good!! No Humdinger, no Digi & Tal, just one segment that really felt like an early season episode, and one segment with GLORIOUS ARRBY

Finally back animating!

I put animating on hold for traveling about a month ago. Not only did I have no means to animate while in the UK (when my digital nomad-ing is a bit more steady I'll buy a good laptop to carry on wherever I am), I also stopped around a week before traveling so I could prepare a backlog of videos. Most of the ones uploaded during my travels were made a couple of weeks beforehand and scheduled!

S12E8 preview thoughts *Huge spoilers*

So after a really strong segment with 7b, we're back to regular annoying programming with episode 8. A Digi and Tal segment and a Humdinger segment, ugh. And of course no guest pups, nothing to make the segments stand out, nothing but lowest-hanging fruit brainlessness.

Tal makes Digi think he's a chicken and he goes running off with Mr. Park on his back. As tedious and brainless as it sounds. At least Chase being chicken-like was entertaining.

What's coming up for Rubble & Crew

Hi guys,

Sorry I haven't updated Patreon as frequently as usual while I've been traveling. I don't have a way to animate while I'm overseas so that's on hold, and I actually made a lot of videos in advance so that also ate into time I could have been animating before I set off. I also don't have any latest PAW leaks to share.

Skye's Dino Movie vehicle

Skye's vehicle is pretty striking and at first I must say I wasn't sure about it. But considering the functionality and what it's capable of, I've grown to like it. If the toy comes even close to this, it's gonna be pretty cool, and I hope the others get vehicles with comparably good gimmicks.

Not that it's the first time Skye has a transforming vehicle, but this design is a fair bit cooler than things like her monster truck where the sides just rise up.

Preview of the last Search & Rescue segments

While Search & Rescue never really figured out what it was meant to be til the very end, I really like the very last segment. It was something very different and chose the best option for what the subseries could have been. Plus it's so nice to focus on the core team without having to mess around with Humdinger or Digi & Tal causing chaos.

Dino Movie vehicles

Honestly, I'm not super sure about the designs for the Dino Rescue vehicles. Movie 2 had its flaws, but one thing they really nailed was giving the pups cool-looking vehicles kids would definitely want to buy! And some people who aren't kids, haha.

But I'm not sure that movie 3 is looking the same way. If anything, this time they should probably focus on the figures, plushes and dino toys. Because the vehicles ... well, Zuma's looks alright but most of them are on the boring side, and ...

I started on this animation before realizing I could finish the other one in time for the one-year anniversary of its first iteration.

Back to this one now!

It's one that has to use the rigs that are harder to deal with. I think after this I'll be sure to only use characters who have rigs I know I don't have to struggle with. But ultimately it's wanting to see fun ideas realized that comes first, not the resources available to me!

PAW season 12 episode 6 thoughts

After the two kind of meandering Search and Rescue full-length episodes, we get our first two divided into segments. And I honestly think they're much, much better - even if the same issue that these could easily just be normal episodes of the show remains.

But these two actually go into the "Missing persons" idea that I thought was the direction the subseries should take. If they made this the strong identity of the subseries, it may actually have been pretty good.

Had time to animate today so got a nice chunk done. I love these two lil guys! Animating with my janky Arrby rig isn't the easiest but I still do love him a lot!

A hovercraft for a jungle setting

Here's a nice little video for Patreon. A 3D model of a very stylish hovercraft, such as you might find in orange for an excursion to a jungle or something like that.

I wonder if Ryder's meant to make all these new themed vehicles in the crashed aircraft carrier. It seems a little wild he'd have such resources but it makes the most sense in context. We'll have to see. I guess it's possible he planned a jungle excursion in advance but the shipwreck was a surprise.

Changed animation

I've switched do a different animation project because of the timing. This one will be kinda fun. The hardest part was making Arrby and that's done now. I'd already made him for my Bruno and Pink Floyd animations but I was really winging it back then and while I'm pretty happy how he turned out for those, the rig was a huge pile of jank, I lost his bandana mesh (and wanted to remake it anyway) and I hadn't made an outfit for him. I don't have nice rigs for these guys! Nonetheless I shall persevere. This is how I learned to animate, after all. Possibly I'd make it quicker for myself overall if I just spent the time learning how to do proper rigging ... but that's not really how I work!

Zuma is coming to To The Rescue today!

At least, unless there are any big changes in plan. Today we should finally get Zuma appearing in a Moonbug animation - after his conspicuous absence from Rocky's Garage and Skye's Music Party (excepting the RG intro and recycled clips from the main show from Skye's Music Party ... and one verbal mention in RG).

He gets to be a little funny too. I just hope the voice actor is decent ... and the cut-price Humdinger doesn't make it too lame. So far, though, To The Rescue has come across ...

Little dino repost

Here on Patreon I'd like to be able to discuss some things I can't talk about elsewhere. What's coming up for To The Rescue

As you may have seen, the Liberty + Uncle Otis episode of PAW Patrol to the Rescue was uploaded today.

I'd said this in advance on Discord, and for you here on Patreon I'll tell you what you can expect in the next two videos.

Next episode will be Zuma+Humdinger! Yay, our boy finally makes it into Moonbug animation. He'll be saving Humdinger from a bad time with tentacles.

New PAW Patrol game

So the new PAW Patrol racing game from Outright, PAW Patrol Rescue Wheels: Championship has finally been officially announced.

We first learned about it way back in December when the plan was to call it Rescue Wheels: Showdown. That sounds a bit more aggressive and arena-focused, so I guess they decided to tone it down a bit.

It's kinda nice to have the old mock-up artwork with the Showdown title, though, which I guess will otherwise become "Lost Media."
