GOOEYCANDY Newsletter & Updates! 🥛 [MAY2025 - Issue #09]: "Got Milk?"

Welcome back for another Gooeycandy Newsletter, where you get up to date with ALL things gooeycandy! Let's dive right in!

Still in convention crunch time, but now I can show you a lot of stuff I've been preparing, even if it's not QUITE available yet! But look forward to a shop update soon!

🎨 Art & Project Progress:

• New Stickers: Here's a few of the sticker designs I finally completed! They haven't arrived yet, but I'll be sure to make a post when they're listed in the shop!

  

  There's also a few new character torso stickers!

  

• Milo Card: It's nearly complete, and it's coming along soooo cute! With the completion of this card, there will be 12 total card designs!!

  

• Project "BRO": So, unfortunately, due to tariffs for imported products, Project BRO is on pause until I can figure out if it's still worth investing in after the mark ups. 😑 I'm really sorry to hype you all up and then not have anything to show for it, but I really love this project and I really don't want to announce it if I can't even follow through with it right now :(

• Hands On! Progress: Because of certain merch endeavors having to be put on hold, the new grand plan for after the convention is to go HARD into Hands On progress… So that includes interviewing for a new programmer, finishing assets, and seeing if I can pick up where I left off! Just a month 'til the convention, sorry it's eaten up so much of my time this year, I forgot what a mission conventions can be!

  Like usual: If you know anyone who is skilled at Unity/working with 2D assets and may be interested, send them this application please!! I’ll likely be reaching out shortly after the convention wraps up!

🔎 Current Focuses: 

• Printing and cutting merch for Barapalooza (the Mexico City convention I will be attending in June) is my current main priority. I'm in paper cutting hell.

• Completing the Milo Card!

• I wanna throw some time towards my Character page on my website!

• And of course, the piece of the poll winner!

💬 Ongoing Polls/Suggestion Boxes:

The character poll has ended! Shane from Stardew Valley and Doug from Monster Prom were head to head for quite a while, and then Kristoff took the lead out of nowhere!! But alas, the fight has come to an end. It seems like Doug got the win! Don't worry I'll be sure to do something with Shane & Kristoff as a consolation!

Been playing Echoes of Wisdom in my (very little) free time finally, it's so good. I am so bad it at lmao. Loving how different it is than any game I've ever played. It's almost...Scribblenauts-esque with the amount of ways you can tackle every obstacle. Also did not secure a Switch 2, but my roomie did so after Barapalooza, I WILL be detoxing in Mario Kart World for a bit lol.

My brain is still kicking my ass, unfortunately. But I've been keeping myself occupied enough to not feel too bad about it I guess. Been pretty stressed out about a lot of things in life lately, but there's also so much to be happy about and to look forward to, so I'm choosing to not let it get the best of me. I'm a little anxious about the whole, flying with gay p*rn to Mexico and almost definitely being stopped at customs with it....lol. I’ll keep y’all updated on how that goes…

⚽ Now to Gooey with Sports: My kickball team won 2 out of 3 games yesterday!! Hell yeah! Just a few more games before the season ends!! Wish us big kick energy!!!

🎥 NOW WATCHING: Survivor, Hacks

SPOILERS AHEAD!! Don't read if not caught up!

Survivor: Chaotic ass season. Mr. Milkman had such a personality shift, and he got caught trying to manipulate Joe. Sad, I'm gonna miss his massive pecs every Wednesday... and now STAR!! nooooooooo. I absolutely loved Star's energy this season. It's such a treat to have someone do "not typical strategy" moves, like giving Eva the idol or not playing her Shot-in-the-Dark when it absolutely made sense to. It gave old school Survivor where people play more on vibes and it was really charming! Gonna miss her!

Hacks: We're so back!!!!! I need my girls to formally make up, but it seems like we're on trajectory for that. Also, not poppers knocking miss Deborah Vance out immediately ☠ This show is so fucking good please watch if you haven't.
