GOOEYCANDY Newsletter & Updates! 💝 [FEB2025 - Issue #04]: "Love You Lots!"

Welcome back for another Gooeycandy Newsletter, where you get up to date with ALL things gooeycandy! Let's dive right in!

🎨 Art & Project Progress:

• Bowser Button: Happy Valentine’s Day! Here's the finished design of the Bowser button I showed off before. The physical merch didn’t make it in time for Valentine's Day, unfortunately, but real ones love Bowser year round! I’ll be sure to give it its own post once it’s listed in the shop!~

  

  There's also another little secret to this pin button that I've yet to reveal yet!!

• New Hands On Progress!: A lot of work is being made on Hands On right now since my programmer will be moving onto his new project soon! So I'm excited to show you some updates! Here's progress on blinking. Some speaking and other expressions are also almost ready to show!

  

  More importantly though, check out this awesome RIG! Something being worked on for the New Hands On titles is a having the character rigged for more fluid animation and movement. A big goal is to make everything feel so much more alive!! Hope this excites you as much as it excites me!!

  

  I added a new area at the bottom of the newsletter called THE SPOILER ZONE! Don't look over there if you want to preserve the imagery of the game for your first playthrough!! But I put some screenshots of the clothes assets so def check it out if you're interested!

  As I mentioned before, my programmer got an opportunity he can't turn down, so he's gonna help a bit more with the first title, but I'll soon need to find someone new! If you know anyone who is skilled at Unity/working with 2D assets and may be interested, send them this application please!! I’ll likely be reaching out soon!

• Organizing: Finally, I got some organizing I hadn’t gotten around to done. My pinned post is easier to navigate, and my old monthly exclusives have been properly sorted into collections with new cover art by year! If you haven’t checked those out, what are you waiting for! Except the old ones ignore those, lol.

  

🔎 Current Focuses: 

• Hands On! will be the main priority until this first new title is complete, so continue to expect updates on that! The plan is to use this first game to gauge interest to launch a Kickstarter for the next couple of titles! So, I'm definitely trying to make this one the best it can be!

• The "Best Of" art book is what I'm working on whenever I have downtime/don't feel like drawing. So it's moving slow but steady!

• The next Poke-Man card for Milo is next up, but for now Hands On will be taking priority!

• I have one more secret project you guys will likely learn about soon, but it's too early to share anything. So just put a pin in that for now...

• What are you doing/did you do for Valentine's Day?

  I uhhh..... I’m hanging out with my ex who I may or may not still have feelings for… we’ll leave it at that.

So, I got back on "the apps" for the first time in well over a year... they're hell. Why are dating apps so full of guys who AREN'T looking for dates. I think I'm gonna go back to trying to meet someone naturally, or die alone trying!!!

My dodgeball team is in first place right now (this never happens) and I'm actually playing.... kind of good? I don't want to jinx it but I'd love a season win under my belt!!

Also, finally rejoined the gym, so feeling kind of motivated again... send big titty energy. Although my disassociation is still at an all time high. BUT WHATEVER at least I've got Hello Kitty Island Adventure to dissociate into.

🎥 NOW WATCHING: Severance, Hacks, Traitors US, Bachelor, Deal Or No Deal Island

Severance: It has been delivering... wowowowow. I haven't watched the latest episode so no spoilers please! But that one in the snow went crazy... Insanely good show, no notes, also I knewwww you know who wasn't you know who, but the reveal for it was insane.

Hacks: The season 3 finale had me yelling. Normally I'm a Deborah Vance apologist, but she fucked up this time. Excited to see how season 4 addresses this. If you're not watching Hacks, trust me the first few episodes are slow and then it's so so so good.

Traitors US: Now, where do I begin..... GABBY (my love) SURVIVED THE SHORTLIST. So nervous to see how this season wraps up. I hope they recruit Gabby lowkey I wanna see her be evil.

Bachelor it's the same old shit why do I still watch.... no clue. Rumors swirling this season will get much messier so, I'm being optimistic.

AND FINALLY.... STORM GOING HOME ON DEAL OR NO DEAL ISLAND RUINED MY LIFE he was eye candy for my soul... why even watch anymore. Please look up "Storm Deal Or No Deal Island" to see an insanely pretty man.
