a break, literally

Hello hello! I figured it was time for an update post on what I’ve been up to as of late.

For those of you who aren’t able to join our livestreams, life has been pretty hectic for the last seven weeks - in the early hours of a Saturday in late August, my partner had to climb up the huge conifer tree in our back garden. Somebody (not naming names but it was absolutely our asshole little kitty) climbed up and got themselves stuck - unfortunately, even though Leia got down safely, Davey… didn’t. He ended up snapping his fibular (the thin bone in your calf) and fracturing his heel - it was awful, and the past seven weeks have dictated that I take time away from work to look after him. For the first five or so weeks he was almost entirely bed bound, so I’ve been in charge of all shopping, cooking (poor him) and cleaning, and it hasn’t left me a lot of time or energy to make videos.

Thankfully, seven weeks on and Davey’s really on the mend. In fact he was able to play two back-to-back gigs this weekend! I’m so proud of him. Now he’s back, I’m going to visit my family (which I was supposed to do two days after he broke his leg…) and be back for later this week. In the meantime, I’ve been brainstorming a lot of ideas…

You might have seen on Twitter that I’m looking at leaning towards video essays on YouTube. The reason for this is mainly that that’s essentially the only thing I watch on YouTube now! Long-form videos about things I enjoy. Music, gaming etc… and I’m looking at making videos geared towards the music industry. My first video will be about Lindsay Lohan and how she could have been a much bigger pop star, and what stopped that from happening. It’s shaping up nicely, I’ve recorded the voiceover and collected most of the footage I need - all that’s left to do is edit it and film a video for you guys…

… which brings me onto my next plan! I’m officially bringing back the Album Club series, exclusively on Patreon. When I get the chance I’ll be filming my reviews on both of Lindsay Logan’s albums, plus a few more including Phoebe Bridgers, Stella Donnelly and Rilo Kiley. The series will be available for all tiers.

Unfortunately as I’m expecting Davey back home tonight I won’t be able to do a livestream - if I am back home from my family in time for next week, I will make up for it then! In the few days Davey has been gone, I took the time to clean the house from top to bottom because these last few weeks have been pretty hectic… so now I have the ol’ “clean house, clean mind” vibe back!

Attached are photos of my upcoming videos I want to work on, as well as Davey’s leg as it was a few weeks ago… just so you can see what we’ve been dealing with! If you’re squeamish, don’t scroll…

Hope you all have a wonderful week!

Ooh I would love that!

The video essays about Taylor seem like they hold potential. Reputation is far from my favorite Taylor era, but I really love listening to people who love it talk about why they love it

I love long form content/video essays so I’d be totally down for some from you! Glad Davey is healing, but that looks gnarly

Take your time! we wont go anywhere <3

Oh i would love if you'd film more of that!

I want to but it didn’t seem to get a ton of feedback so not sure if people want it

Damn that leg looks nasty!! Glad he’s doing better now though. Thanks for the update and I’ll catch you at the next livestream when you are free!! Have a great rest of your weekend and I really look forward to watching the first video essay when it’s ready :)

Will you go back to the Feel Good 101 series at some point?
