Patreon website wide update to tax policy

Just as a heads up, Patreon appears to be changing the way sales tax is applied to pledges starting in July this year. They're encouraging me to make a post about it to alert my patrons, hopefully in addition to having already sent notifications to everyone individually like they should. But in case anyone missed that or passed over it, I guess it's worth while for me to bring it up again.

Here's their explanation of things.

They go over it in more detail but the long and short of it as far as I understand it is that some some countries and some USA states are expanding sales taxes to apply to some online subscriptions and digital goods. Applicable content (such as my content as I'm interpreting it) will have  the sales tax added to the pledges on the patron's side of things based on the buyer's territory of residence, so some of you may see a small increase in pledge costs depending on where you live. The highest sales tax rate I see among applicable territories is 25% (in Norway).

Again, check Patreon's explanation in the link above for the finer details. It doesn't look like there's anything I can do on my end to make adjustments (especially on an individual patron-to-patron basis) so my pledge prices will be staying the same, sorry.
