I posted this on YouTube but want to comment on here to defend Knuckles the Dread. He is not just Knuckles talking like a pirate. I think he embodies the greedy and selfish traits that may have been buried in Knuckles. Knuckles is the guardian of the Master Emerald and protects it to the best of his ability. Knuckles becomes emotional and can be violent when the Master Emerald is in jeopardy. However, Knuckles still protected others and helped his friends. Knuckles the Dread is the opposite in that he cares more about his "shiny" than his crew. He'd be willing to sacrifice them and Sonic for that "shiny" or whatever he deemed was his most valuable treasure. He hid from fights when Knuckles would be at the front line.
