Woof, it's been a while since I've seen this level of Twitter drama for a movie. Maybe Justice League? Idk lol. What did y'all think of the movie?

I really liked it. When the kids discussed how much the concert cost they could have mentioned how much the tax would be. Surely they would be old enough to have known that tax is added on. Especially since they seem to be really into math.

It was really good. It's got just a 7.1 on IMDB currently; really feels like it should be closer to 8.2 - 8.3.

I have heard about some people's complaints about the Turning Red ranging from its visuals to its story. For the people who watched the movie and genuinely did not care for it, I do respect their opinions. For those who complained without having even seen the movie...well, I guess social media's gotta social media, and the illegitimate complaints about the movie have reached toxic levels. This is unfortunate, since-and this is coming from someone who watched the entire movie the day that it dropped on Disney+-this is Pixar at its typical top-tier finest.
Turning Red is a movie that excels in so many ways. The visuals are stylized and are most certainly far better than some folks have made them out to be. The story of a teenager going through changes is something that a lot of folks can relate to. The fact that they bring up menstruation is a big, but appreciated, risk for Pixar to take (and living proof that their movies aren't strictly kids' stuff). And, of course, you'll likely want to have a box of tissues on hand for the more emotional bits, particularly towards the end. The morning I watched the movie was a glorious one, indeed.
I, too, feel that Turning Red deserved better than to be criticized as harshly as it has by certain folks. I do hope that these same people give it a fair chance...if they do, perhaps they will find another high-quality Pixar movie. Turning Red also deserved to have a theatrical release (even for a short amount of time before heading to Disney+), but I guess Disney's gotta Disney during these tough times. With any luck, LightYear's planned theatrical release will go through without a hitch, though only time will tell.
Thanks for being a huge defender of Turning Red, Saber, and good luck with Helluva Boss!
