With all the godawful adult animated cartoons popping up lately *cough*Fairview*cough*, it's refreshing to know that some people still care about making adult animation that is genuinely compelling, funny, and enjoyable. From what I had heard, Smiling Friends checks off all of those boxes, and does so quite well. Since you tweeted about your enjoyment of the series a while ago, I was hoping you would give it a hearty recommendation in Quick Vid form, and lo and behold, here it is! While I have not seen Smiling Friends myself, it is wonderful to know that the creators have made the successful jump from Internet to mainstream entertainment. The humor, the characters, the fact that they referenced the Rankin-Bass Hobbit (I saw that movie when I was around 12 years old...I should rewatch it at some point)...all signs of the type of quality adult animation that's becoming harder to come across. Best of all was how much you enjoyed the show and how it has swiftly become your favorite cartoon of 2022 so far (the year is still young, but I'm sure it's never too early to find a contender for the year's best cartoon). I also rather like how impeccable the timing of the video is on account of (A) the show's having been made available on HBO Max, and (B) it's having just been renewed for a second season. If all that doesn't make people...well...smile, I don't know what will! Thanks for another top notch Quick Vid, Saber, and see you soon! =)
