Another quick glimpse at FIGHT MACHINE!
I recently decided Issue 1 didn't have enough OMBRA. He's in it, but mostly as an aberration that taunts Ceasar.
So, I worked in a scene where he's in the story physically from Issue 1. I also wanted to change up the locale a bit, as most of the issue (and Sharknife in general) has taken place in The Guangdong Factory.
That's one of my goals with FIGHT MACHINE, is to bring the story out of the Guangdong Factory, and into the CITY, COASTALVANIA! Just expand the narrative in general.
So here's a very rough look at the new ombra scene, which takes place in a casino
A few notes about this scene:
- It incorporates yet another implement from an old "Sharknife 3" take-- namely the COIN that this guy slaps down on the table as his bet. That coin is a Guangdong "Free meal" token, or Free Meals for a Year or some shit. I just like the idea that the Guangdong gives out COINS for free food or something lol
- Also, initially I had Ombra drawing a KING that would be Sharknife. But I just changed that to an "ACE" coz Sharknife is totally an Ace, and Ombra is a KING! So it's more potent he's being a bit upstaged
- Also, I initially had Sharknife TAUNTING ombra here (same as how Ombra taunts Ceasar in his own Aberration)-- but I figured Ombra getting ENCOURAGEMENT from Sharknife would grate him much more than any feeble dig at him lol. That's just the kinda guy Ombra is!
