PROJECTS !

Sharing Saturday, I just want to share my PROJECTS so it's not all living in my head all the time. 

OK SO 

Current 3 big in-production projects are: 

1. SHARKNIFE FIGHT MACHINE

2. DEAD NAKED

3. LIVING WEAPON 

(And a bonus 4th project!)

1. SHARKNIFE: FIGHT MACHINE 

I drew almost the entire first issue, wanted to have it DONE by ECCC (a couple months ago)-- First issue was GOOD... But could be GREAT. I went back to the drawing board, I have a NEW AND BETTER opening for it now. It sets the ENTIRE VIBE for the comic up MUCH BETTER. Also playing a ton of MORTAL KOMBAT 11 has supremely helped me embrace the bonkers zaniness of SHARKNIFE, the way it should be. 

2. DEAD NAKED 

The story for DEAD NAKED is actually pretty far along in it's current state. It would only take a little work to bring this comic further to it's conclusion. Will be doing so. 3. LIVING WEAPON

This one's kinda exciting, too! Once I decided to do SHARKNIFE I put this by the wayside, but this one, like DEAD NAKED, has an advantage: It's a quick-ish ONE SHOT. SHARKNIFE will be ongoing, but I still want/need to create shorter comic stories to self-publish for cons, our entertainment, etc. So yeah, LIVING WEAPON is back, and by the way, it's a sequel to DREAM SKILLS from "SUN BAKERY". It is DREAM SKILLS 2, starring Xasha and Puff in their FUTURE adventures. Literally, coz it takes place 5-10 years in the future, and some SHIT HAS CHANGED. 

LIVING WEAPON is more like GANTZ than Dream Skills 1. It's a completely bombastic, crazy, stream-like adventure-- less "deft handling" needed for this compared to SHARKNIFE FM, so it's a good contrast to the more concise nature I will be attempting to employ with SHARKNIFE (tho that will be crazy too, i assure)

SHARKNIFE is [hopefully] a well-orchestrated full Rock album (think, The Pillows or Weezer at their best), while LIVING WEAPON is the crazy screamo b-side you picked up at a show

So yeah, that's where I am right now, project wise!

Also, a "PENG!" collection is on the horizon with Oni Press. It will have the original PENG! kickball adventure, "STALL!" the short HACKEY SACK comic, and my newest "FREEZE!" the BREAKDANCING story! I will probably also cook up a new short or two for the trade, to make it extra special. The tentative title for the PENG! collection is "GAME CHANGER" (since it literally changes games throughout the book!). What do you guys think of that?

Also, this blog post. This collection of thought. That is work, that is art. This is part of it, too!
