Updates!

Hi everyone!

I hope you're safe and healthy in these crazy times we're living in right now.

I wanted to reach out as I've been doing some work to overhaul my Patreon. As some might have heard, Diamond (the main distribution channel for comic books in North America) is no longer accepting new product for the foreseeable future. This has largely meant many projects going on indefinite hold throughout publishing: If no new comics can be sold, then nobody is making new com...

Tangle!

Here's Sonic's brand new pal in the new IDW comics, Tangle the Lemur!

One of the rare times I sketched and drew a character entirely digitally.

Hi-res file with layers for the sketch, lineart, and colors is attached!

Sonic the Hedgehog

Looks like I can finally share the news! I will be one of the rotating colorists on the all new Sonic the Hedgehog comics from IDW! Very excited to continue to work on the Blur Blur's comic book adventures, and especially to continue working with all of these amazingly talented writers and artists that I've worked with for the last decade. It's quite a reunion so far!

Here's the raw artwork to one of the covers for Sonic the Hedgehog #4, illustrated by Evan Stanley and colors by me! And ...

Coloring Sonic and Sally in Photoshop 7

Hey guys! I recently recorded myself coloring a recent commission. It's Sonic and Sally, drawn by Tracy Yardley! Colored this in an hour in Adobe Photoshop 7. Regrettably just shot this with my phone, so t's not the best of quality. Looking to make some equipment upgrades here at the end of the year, which hopefully will be a system strong enough to handle screen-capture while I am working! In the meanwhile, I hope everyone has a safe and fun holiday and thank you as always for supporting my wor...

GFFs: Ghost Friends Forever

Hey guys! So this year I colored a number of graphic novels, in addition to monthly comics - and TWO of them are coming out this month!

GFFs: Ghost Friends Forever is a brand new story written by Monica Gallagher, illustrated by Kata Kane (with colors by me) from the CharmZ imprint of PapercutZ! It's a fantastic all-ages book and I hope you check it out. The book JUST came out and is available now at your local comic book store!

Here are a couple of my favorite, non-spoilery ...

Breath of the Wild

Whoo! Managed to get a couple pieces done before I sink into deadlines for the second half of this month! Will have this as a print available at my upcoming conventions!

Speaking of, I'll be at Classic Game Fest July 29-30 in Austin, TX, at the end of this month! And I'll also be at Super Smash Con in Chantilly, VA, from August 10-13. Hope to see you there!

Updates!

Hey everyone! Terribly sorry for the huge lack of new content so far this month - 2017 has already proven to be a rollercoaster of a year filled with surprises both good and bad. I just wrapped up a big deadline crunch on Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, so I wanted to take a breather today and do a quick update on some things, before resuming more regular updates later this week.

MAGfest:

Thank you to everyone that came by the table! I have heard many awesome things ...

Copic Red Ranger

Happy new year, everyone! And thank you guys so much for your continued support. I recently picked up a set up to be able to use my phone to stream and record, so I'll hopefully be doing that soon with some Copic marker art!

Sonic the Hedgehog #293 Cover

Solicits for Archie's Action comics coming out in March were released today, including this awesome cover drawn by Tracy Yardley featuring fan-fave Honey the Cat in the new Studiopolis Zone! The cover also features new characters: The Sonic-Man Heroes! Here's the cover without them or all that additional dressing.

Happy Birthday, Mega Man!

Sorry I haven't been able to post much this week - this time of year can get pretty hectic, as everyone is trying to complete as many projects as possible before the X-Mas/New Year break. Will have a Patron-exclusive post a little later today! In the meanwhile, I wanted to wish the Blue Bomber a happy birthday! From 2011 to 2015, I had the pleasure of coloring Mega Man's adventures in the Archie Comics series, month after month! This was one of the last New York Comic Con exclusive covers for...

Batman/TMNT Adventures #2

Back in September, I was approached by my fellow Mega Man alum Chad Thomas about coloring a cover of his for the upcoming Batman/TMNT Adventures comic. Not only was I more than happy to reunite with Chad, but it was rad to color some of my fave characters for the first time ever! I believe this variant cover drops next week, so be sure to pick it up at your local comic store!

Diesel:Ignition

Looks like this was finally announced!

If you've been following the awesome Sonic Mega Drive comics, you'll know the lineart is by the incredibly talented Tyson Hesse. Tyson has his own creator-owned book at Boom Studios: Diesel! I helped out a little with the first 4 issue mini-series, doing some flatting for Tyson. Well, that is finally being collected in a new graphic novel...

Plus a whole new second arc! Which I got to help out alot more on, coloring chapters 5, 6, and 7. It wa...

One Piece x Wind Waker

I was commissioned last month to do lineart for a number of new products currently available from SharkRobot.com.

One of the items requested was a One Piece group pic, and I figured it'd be fun to mash it up with a Zelda: Wind Waker style! I know next to nothing about One Piece, but this was alot of fun to do - I might revisit this and color it sometime in the future.

Gotta do what??

SharkRobot.com commissioned a number of linearts from me for some new T-Shirt designs - including this one! I just had to do some quick colors on it. Loved the Parappa games so much when I was younger!

Illustrating Sonic the Hedgehog 291's Variant

I recently was asked to illustrate my very own cover! This marks the first time in nearly six years that I have drawn anything for the Sonic the Hedgehog comics - aside from uncredited stuff like fixing facial expressions/details or drawing in missing characters, here and there - and I was crazy excited!

The plan originally was to produce the piece traditionally, in Copic Markers, with digital clean up. Unfortunately, I totally ran out of time  and ultimately colored this one digita...
