Fangs - Road to "PINAPL" Pt. 2

WHATTUP MY REYYYTRONS! 

Been mildly chaotic and fugue-y over here in the COASTALVANIA realm. The big news is I'm still waiting for my new tablet! So productivity has been stilted a bit, but I'm staying busy.

Let me introduce you to Fangs. A major character in "PINAPL"! Which I am still developing the devil out of. I'm having a blast. I say this every time I start writing something new, but yeah, this is the best thing I've written. That's how it should work right? YES. 

Fangs has an interesting deal. You may get a bit of a KHALEESI vibe from her when you meet her in the comic. She is one of Vinovoglia's "FAB FOUR".... name not final lol. Basically his GUARDIANS that guard his TOMB while he's in the DEMON REALM. 

Fangs & Vinovoglia broke tradition tho, by Fangs being not only one of his guard, but the first to also become one of his wives. They have an interesting dynamic! I'm excited to get into it, for you all to experience it!

Game of Thrones, (aka: A Song of Ice and Fire) is a HUGE inspiration to PINAPL. Of course I am nowhere near George's level, and it's unclear how much it's influence will show in the final product of PINAPL, but consuming his works in all their forms (I do the show, read the books, listen to the audiobooks when i drive, cook meals, etc) has supremely helped me build the world for PINAPL. 

I like to think of PINAPL as Kill Bill meets Game of Thrones-- with Dragon Ball Z bombast. Yeah. 

I am not being bashful about the influences vital to PINAPL in the actual comic, as well. I've always kinda worn my comics' influences on my sleeve, but in PINAPL, there are tons of real-world pop culture references woven into the story, as well. Something I haven't done much of in past comics, but am excited to work into the world of PINAPL / Coastalvania. There are even lots of easter eggs and call outs to influences hidden within PINAPL. I'm not gonna say it's like "Ready Player One" but watching that movie did kinda open my eyes about how endearing using a well-placed reference, etc, can be. I mean, my life IS pop culture, why not treat it as some kinda vague spiritual thing in my comics? Hell yeah. 

Another fun thing about PINAPL, and ALL my comics, actually, is that they ARE in a SHARED REYYY UNIVERSE. Some of my comics hint at that already (Ceasar from "Sharknife" and Rocky from "Peng!" are brothers-- "Apollonia No!" shows up in several of my comics, etc)-- PINAPL will show this interconnectivity moreso than any comic I've done yet! It's going to be very exciting.

Sides that, we goin hard over on COASTALVANIA.com proper on the web-- A lot of my PHYSICAL ART ITEMS are there for your consumption, including some pretty baller ass new enamel pins. 

We WILL be adding more PHYSICAL ART ITEMS to Coastalvania very soon, including my self-published ZINES, single issues of Sun Bakery, and many more new pins! Coastalvania is very helpfully co-managed by a friend who does all my shipping for me, which is amazing, because I classically suck ass at it! So yeah, with this TEAM Coastalvania is forming, getting these rad arts to you is becoming a lot easier!

Will be contacting y'all LVL 20 / 40 / 50 REYYYTRONS about custom drawings ASAP! Like I said, been a hiccup, having my tablet get smashed and all But I am determined to catch up with myself! I definitely went for broke, offering to do basically 10-15 original drawings for y'all each month-- but I am honestly loving it! And you guys provide great fuel for new ideas on stuff to draw. I truly appreciate it! Honestly it's just the tablet thing hanging me up right now! Thank you for your patience and support!

THEN MAYBE HOPEFULLY "PINAPL" very soon after that. Tho I may branch and do some new DEAD NAKED, DREAM SKILLS or AREM before I launch into PINAPL proper-- coz I am still world-building that sucker, I tells ya!

Also, we are due for some new CLAB-- that is being worked on, and this new issue will center all around the various VIDEO GAME ARTWORK I've done, which has been varied and glorious. From Jet Grind Radio to Street Fighter. This shit gon be THICK!
