If he doesn't want to be cuddled, he is able to communicate it with body language, and if he wants to cuddle, he's capable of gripping me so firmly that there's no way to wiggle free without waking him up. I could force myself free, but it's simply easier to let him sleep and stay there until he either wakes up or releases me. I love the no-thought-only-instinct mode he goes into when he sleeps.
