Watching fruit dry

We did, in fact, get a food dehydrator! And he did a webcam stream of our first test apple slices drying to check on them while we were at a local market event. And for a mysterious reason, someone else really was watching it.

The only thing that didn't actually happen was me being puzzled about the whole thing - I watched him set it up from the start. Blue explaining the whole thing to Green just felt like the most logical way to depict the situation in comic form.

It’s calming and predictable. If someone needs white noise in the background it’s perfect.

This comic has made my wife and I get a new dehydrator to replace our old cylindrical “stacking trays” plastic one that has cracks in the trays and doesn’t really work properly anymore. We just got a 6 tray metal “oven” style one that can fit on top of the microwave in the kitchen. Going to be able to start making all of these again! Homemade dried fresh herb mixes. Homemade dried fruit & chilli spice mixes, chilli powders, and dried mushrooms. Homemade fruit leathers (drool)) Homemade beef jerky (nom!) Homemade dried fruit slices (apples mostly) So thank you, dear foxes, for the nudge! (She says I’m definitely Blue in this one LOL)

Maybe not. But specifically putting effort into finding the stream and watching with full knowledge whose fruit it is might do, I think..

Does watching someone else's fruit dry really qualify as stalking?

Did you pair up with Alec from Technology Connections?

Great idea 🤩 I'll borrow that one 😁 And "apple parchment" was the result of my first attempts, too 🍎

Eldkatten

Our first batch of apple slices turned out so thin that they were essentially like apple parchment - and one day I want to try making that on purpose to make an apple rose out of them as a cake decoration.

Trust me, people will watch the strangest things to just zone out for a bit. I remember a long while back I saw a YouTube stream of someone who set up a camera for watching paint dry. Surprisingly, it had maybe a hundred+ watchers.

Food dehydrators are awesome! 😃 I got one for making apple slices to have them for breakfast, but once you start using them, you find more and more uses like mushrooms, herbs, carots... And actually *I* might watch someone else fruits drying, to get a grasp on the process before I get my own food dehydrator 😊

I joked on Twitter that I was the one watching but I just wanna make it clear that I wasn’t lol I’m not stalking you, promise! 😅
